I know it's been covered, but worth repeating. IT'S NOT AO. You have spyware on your computer.

I have AO set as my homepage at home and I get pop ups, however I think they are from my weather thing. For a while though I was getting paintball pop ups here and at pbgear but I don't think it AO just other crap we all use.

a great popup blocker is "No-Ads" you can DL it at http://www.download.com it runs completely unseen and untouched, you can even set it so the icon in the task bar(right next to the clock) isnt visable. the only issue that it has is that when its first installed the list of popups to block is long but not complete so when you get a popup you need to open No-Ads, you will see a box with a list of all the open windows and then you will high light the popup and click the button "add to targets"(i think thats what it says, if not its something similar) and boom- youll never see that popup again. its completely spyware free and free of cost. its an incredible product if you dont mind working with it for a little bit(after two weeks of having No-Ads on my computer i havent seen a popup in ages). i highly recommend it

                    I SORTA GOT ONE TOO...

I recently changed my security setting, so now I am asked if I want to accept cookies. I got a prompt for a cookie from PBNation yesterday. It may have "spawned" from a picture that someone had in the thread.

Of course, a cookie is not really a popup, but still...

                      kazaa

Either Ad-aware, Spybot, or spyware blaster seems to be incompatible with Kazaa. I downloaded them and Kazaa refused to open. I can't even delete it in Add or Remove Programs.

                      Software is the devil.

That is because ad-aware(or whatever you used) deleted a spyware DLL that KaZaA needs to run. Uninstall any install of KaZaA, Grokster, etc. Then go to K-Lite.tk and download the newest version. Install that and be happy :)

just let it do it's thing. That's because more then likely it's trying to delete a .dll or some registry entries associated with the "spyware". Let it delete them, reboot and re-scan with adaware again. and as others have mentioned, kill Kazaa and go get Kazaa Lite. no spyware.

also I see some of you have posted about the weather or something? Theres software out there called weather bug that may be causing pop-ups and whatnot.
