way to tell if a gun has a lvl 10 installed?

I just bought a used gun with a lvl 10 installed, and I was wondering if there was a way to determine if a lvl 10 is actualy installed on it.

stick a pencil in the hole where the paintballs go, fire the gun (do this if you are pretty sure it has level 10)

check to see if on the face of the bolt there is a black soft thing, if the edge is rounded, and at the other end of the bolt a tube is sticking maybe 1/2" out of the back of the bolt. and if the part the sear catchs is shaped like |) that kinda

take the bolt off and look at the brass-ish part at the end of the valve(where the bolt covered it) if it has 2 slots like for a big screw driver it is non-level 10, if it has a place to use a wrench is it level 10.

              First off, welcome to AO

Now, unscrew your field strip screw at the back of the grip frame and take out the valve. Pull off the bolt, unscrew the power tube tip and see what you see. You'll either have the lvl 10 bolt and power-tube internals -- or you won't. If you don't know what the lvl 10 bolt, power-tube tip and carriers look like, then you should go to the lvl 10 page http://www.automags.org/resource/level10/index.shtml and read all about it (and look at the pictures).

If you don't have a copy of the manual, you can go here and find what you need: http://www.airgun.com/manual.shtml This page also has blow-up diagrams of the classic and retro valves with lvl 7 bolts so you can see the difference between them and the lvl 10.

There, that should get you on your way
