To visit the impulse owners group and see this just made me smile

IOG Forums > Impulse > Technical Help > Impy stepped on, now not firing right

Just reminded me of how tough mags are.

i think mags are tougher than tippys, mainly due to mags are all enclosed w/ fewer moving parts, i'm willing to bet a mag would still work if you threw it up against a tree...throw a 98, and i don't think it will (kid's, don't try this at home) a caarbine might survive though

I've seen a M98 survive a tree, hit it held by the barrel. The VL200 didn't make it, but...

yeah, ive definetely seen tippys take lots and lots and lots and lots of abuse...thrown into trees rocks ect ect and they still survive. everybody spends too much money on mags to do that kinda stuff

I droped my mag at running speed into a shallow rocky creek from about 13ft up. And it was fine.

mags definately own tippies as far as reliability is concerned. The only possible thing that could bother either is sand, but they can both shoot a bunch with sand in em too, it'll just wear em down a lot and make an icky mess, mags if it gets in the breech and tippies if it gets in the bolt area.

Anyhoo, I step on my mags all the time . I need to figure out a dedicated place to keep my emag. I'm not worried about the emag, it's the warp and revvy I don't trust

My M98 custom has taken severe abuse from me, my 18yr old son, and my wife. It has met trees in a dead run for the first bunker, and a few rocks along the way too. It's still shooting great.

My emag has taken most of it's abuse from me, but it has never let me down after a hard landing in the field or in the driveway. (still don't know how my bag got opened! )

about a year ago someone has a mag fall outta their truck and get run over by a car that was following them... besides the barrel being bent and a few spots of road rash is still fired fine
