    Decisions, Decisions

I am selling my RT Pro for more than I got it for. $150 more in fact. I now currently have a little more than $525 to spend on a new setup. I am thinking of either getting a vision impulse and upgrading it slowly or building a new X-Valved ULE bodied Intelliframe mag. I know that this is an AGD biased place to ask but which way do you guys honestly think is better to take. Thanks.

    in all honesty

I think the Impulse is a nice marker. They are light and you see a lot of them around.

The Impulse does have a history of technical problems. These stem from the guys at Smart Parts not covering all the little holes and ports well enough. Paint and water get into these and right onto the board. When this happens, well, it fries.

The mag is a mechanical gun and you see a lot less of those than you used to on the tourney scene. This is mostly because it is easier to shoot an electro faster. The modern electros are quite, run fast, and they are fun to shoot.

I think the mag would last you a long time, and if something breaks you have some of the best customer support in the industry to back it up.

What are you looking to do with this marker?

        Hmm

I think the Mag will serve you well. When you get into tourney ball, shoot the guns you can and see what you like.

There are many electros out there. I love my bushmaster, but if I were gonna buy one just for tourney duty I'd prolly look at the new Angel Speed and the AKA Viking, along with the E/X Mag.

I personally dont like the impulse at all. very tall with the horizontal reg, not very efficient.

but the biggest one is the fact the smart parts released a product with known problems with no intent of ever fixing them. first shot shoot down of those can be REALLY bad. some are worse than others, but this is an issue that SP has attempted to bandaid with the tape worm and the front LPRs. but it is still there. if you pay $800+ for a vision Imp ( or $800+ for ANY gun), I would expect it to be a quality product.

            well

the original idea of the marker was ok. 2 tube design with no low pressure system. Should be simpler with less to fail.

The best plans often go awry.

Once you add the LPR system you basically have a bushmaster. Don't tell that to an impy owner because the impy is "superior" to the bushy. Well, whatever.

Anyway, that is why I say the better guns out there are worth the money but if you get one of the lower cost models learn it and get to know it.

None of them has problems that can't be worked around but some have more than others like you said.
