    Reg Piston Question? (non-technical)

A friend has two faulty parts.

    1. Reg Valve pin as. (fell apart)
    2. Reg Piston (leaks when his is in there, tested w/ mine)

He has a classic RT, he heard something about getting his Reg Piston replaced regarding level 10. He heard that he could have his Reg Piston replaced for free.

Futher more, his classic RT is pre-star, doesn't he have 2 starts, since it is a valve w/o any?

    Thanks,

Straight from the AGD Warranty Policy-

RTs with serial numbers under 4000 (1 to 3999) are out of warranty and are subject to the $45 rebuild fee. RTs with serial numbers 4000 and up will receive free service until December 31, 2002, at which time all RTs will be out of warranty and require a rebuild fee of $45. We will consider making an exception if our records show the valve has never been in for repair before.

I am that mag owner, and the serial is #1098, why is it not under warranty at all? ? and the ones with later production dates are?

Is there anyway I could get the reg piston as. and valve for a cheaper price so i could stop playing with my cocker? ?
