    Please help, AO geniuses!

Hi guys! I'm a first time poster, so please be gentle. I was recently in the hospital for sugery and laid up at home for nearly two weeks after a burst appendix, and spent ALOT of time reading this forum. I actually surfed in here by accident looking for Angel tech info and was hooked. Your posts as a whole converted me to purchase a mag. I printed out forum after forum, reading in bed for 8 to 10 hours a day, using four reams of paper.

Here's what I've bought: A Minimag hopper right black teflon body with a 4 star valve and a white cardboard box with a video (LOL), a clear warpfeed in a clamshell box, an Intelliframe in a similar box that is flat black with a blade trigger and a black x-valve with a bunch of brass things with o-rings on them and a sear lever. I've just taken the stuff out of their clamshells and don't really know what to do first. I've got to build a marker out of all this stuff, LOL.

    Here's my questions:
    1. Should I wire the intelliframe to my 12v rev AND Warpfeed like the online manuals show, or use the sensor?

    2. I think I can tune the x-valve's level 10 because the instructions are excellent, but why does it come with a new sear lever thing? I can't find instructions on how to get that roll pin (that the sear in the minimag pivots on) out of the frame rail - do I drive it out with a punch or what? Is that even necessary with this x-valve?

    3. I need to order a drop forward and bottom ASA - what is going to work best with this warp? Any suggestions on the drop I should get? I've got a 45k 68 tank.

    4. Will I need one of those KAPP foregrip extenders to make all the warp junk fit and still have a foregrip?

    5. Since the Halo-B makes a "pressurized" ball stack itself, does that interfere with the warp feed if I want to use my Halo WITH the warpfeed? The reason I kinda want to use a Rev is so I can melt that U-gouge in the side to run the warp hose through, but maybe somebody has a better plot?

    Any help would be appreciated!

If it is a minimag, the sear pin isn't attached to anything. It just sits in that little slot. Lift the sear out, and the pin will come out with it. Just don't drop the pin because they slide out easily.

1)I wired the warp to my Intelliframe. It worked fine. I let the loader's sensor activate itself, and let the trigger activate the warp. I used a revy and a halo with this setup and had no problems whatsoever.

5)I use a Halo on my warp without problems, once you get used to the weight. You wil just have to angle the warp out more with the halo, and run the hose up the side of it, between the loader and the gun. Not as tight as a rev/warp combo, but the halo gives you the ability to shoot while holding the gun at an angle longer than a revy will.

3)Prerry much any drop will work fine with the warp. The drop goes underneath the warp plate. Working bottom up, you have the drop, warp plate, and the bottom of thregripframe. I use a System X drop and love it. The On/Off has a really big knob, making it easier to use. The CP ones also work well. Those are the ones I have experience with.

4)A friend of mine has a warped minimag with a gas through foregrip and no problems with it. He doesn't use a foregrip extender.

I think thats most of your questions, though out of order. Hope it helped.

You guys really are all very knowledgeable as an owner's group. I've got to say that I'm very happy to be a new Automag owner. I had a fair amount of buyer's remorse with my Angel - I felt that it was far more money than I got enjoyment out of it. There's so many cool things that can be done with these Automags. I'd like to hear any suggestions you guys have got for setting this bad boy up.

If you want to stay with the warp, when the warp ULE bodies come out I'd say look into getting one. The are much lighter, and take cocker threads so you'll have a wider choice of barrels. The depends, however if you want to put the extra money into it. What you have now will work really well, so it will be all about preference once you use it for a while.

In my opinion, you have the optimal setup right there, so there is no need to go any further. The only really choices you might have left is to look at a ULE body, or to upgrade to an emag/xmag.

The only thing I'd like to add, is that when setting up the LX on the X-Valve, have plenty of air. Leaks are common while getting it set-up right. Once it's set, shoot a whole tank of air through it, to break in the power tube O-ring. At that point, you may have to change the O-ring carrier down 1 size to stop a small leak out the barrel.

The sear that came with the X-Valve is the same one that's in your MiniMag.

Other than that, have fun! Sounds like a great gun you got there

            Ruptured Appendix

My appendix ruptured when i was in seventh grade. So i know what the pain is like. But hopefully buying a mag will cure all that pain.

Like Russ said make sure you have alot of air when you are tweaking the LX. You'll probably have to pull the valve out a few times and one thing to watchout for is the on/off pin. After degassing the gun make sure to pull the trigger 1 more time. This makes sure that the on/off pin will be in the up position, instead of the pressurized down position. If you try to pull out the valve, with it in the down position you can tweak it on the body rail.

Anyways have fun with your new mini, and how big is your scar. (mines 3.5 inches)

That's a good point - I do have a Scuba tank that I haven't filled yet this spring. I'll need to remember to do that. Oh, and thanks a TON guys - I'll post some pics when It's together.

Oh, and AlabamaMan: the scar's almost 6", LOL. I really wasn't in too much pain. Vicodin and perkocet(sp?)rule.

If you get stuck on something, let me know. I'm in Minneapolis and we could meet up somewhere and I could give you a hand with things.

Hexis: Thanks! Btw.. where is your home field here in the cities - I'll be working weekends at Action Packed in Jordan, MN... I also play at Splatball, Inc. and SYO. PM me or something sometime.

                            cphilip: thanks for the welcome.

Mossman: I've got a Boomstick right now - the old solid kind, not a two piece (just bought it - it had been around at this local shop for awhile) and also Sunday ordered a full Freak with 12" and 14" AA fronts and SS back.

                            Bunkerhugger: Thanks!

The closest thing I have to a "home field" is Paintball Sam's in Racine WI. I am always at the Big Games there. For local stuff I'm all over, and very sporadic.
