field/shop HELP!

hi guys...I know there are quite a few field or shop owners here...so I'm hoping you AOers can help me. see, I used to partially run a small paintball place...we had 5 fields, a litte shop, we just bought it to help a friend in debt, and out of our love for the sport...anyways, about a month ago, the man that owned the land came up and told us we had to get out quick because his insurance were gonig to come check out the place for flood damage and if they saw we had a paintball field there would be some indescrepencies...or something like that. I know we probably could have taken him to court, but like I said above...the only reason we started this was for fun and a little extra cash. well...I guess we liked it a little too much, and we are looking everywhere to start fresh. now, there's this company called exotic sportz. which is a paintball store chain...we're thinking about contacting them and you know...opening a branch down in the 'ol lone star. lol...what I need to know is, would we be better off just having a shop, or having a shop and field. and should we try for a place in the metroplex, as to compete with the other places, or stay where we are and just like...be there...a no name place where families and small parties go...any answers to my questions, advice, tips, stories, anything would be helpful...THANX!

if u can't find land to build a field on, i would say just go with a store. having a field too is more fun, and u make more cash but its eaier to just build a store. Just having a store means you could open it up in the town or city you live in(instead of on the outskirts of town). you'll get more buiseness that way.

I don't own a store but I know of a few places that have a store in the middle of town and then a field on the outskirts... this could be good because you wouldn't have to invest all the money for the store AND the land at the same time, you could buy the land later.
