What kind of efficiency are you getting with the Level 10 in an Emag ?

Hmm i was dry firing... So 678 ball off 2500psi with a 25% loss. Well that would equal 858 shots if i was shooting paint. Not to shabby off a 68 cubic inch tank. Who said mags are gas hogs?

Going to take an educated guess here, but I'm going to say that due to the inertia of the ball, there's a time in which pressure builds up behind the ball and you have a column of gas that is expanding in all directions. The ball basically acts as a flow limiter and this causes gas to expand back towards the bolt pushing it back while at the same time pushing the ball forward. So this should push the bolt back slightly faster and close it sooner along with the flow that was limited you end up getting less gas used per shot.

Without a ball in the barrel and shooting at the same reg. pressure, you basically have a huge expansion tube and all of that air in the dump chamber flows straight down the barrel, which results in less residual pressure and more gas wasted.

There was a noticable loss of efficency when I installed my L10. I get about 650 shots off of a 68/3k tank. That just plain sucks. Another problem is that L10 likes a little higher input pressure. I was running 600 with the stock bolt. With L10 I was putting 900 into the gun. If you need 900psi and you have a 3k tank then that only leaves 2100 effective psi.

I can shoot four 140rnd pods and a hopper with my IR3 and still have 1200psi in my tank.

Phil, which spring are you using and are you using the loosest carrier fit that doesn't leak?

            Very Efficient!

I'm able to get about five 140 rd tubes and a hopper off of 2,000psi from an 88/4500 Crossfire system with my XMag. About the same off my XValve equipped 'Mag. I've never shot more air or paint to test it further, so far I've been lucky enough that my team has mashed the other poor b@stards too fast to force me to shoot more. That's what...almost 900 shots on 2,000psi? I'm a back guy now (shaddup all of you) and I'm not complaining at all. Most of that is at much greater than ten balls per second.

BLACK- Middle spring and loosest carrier. The short spring wouldn't crono up past 260 without venting.
