regulator consistency

Why are some vertical regualtors more consistant then others? Which ones are more consistant?

Currently I am running an AA Black-Ice on my cocker, but I am getting -/+ 10fps with each shot and I am wondering if it is the vertical reg, or my tank (AA Apocolypse 45/45)

sidewinder have the best reputation for high flow and consistentcy. I get +3fps with it and decent matched paint on a cocker. Another good one is stabilizer. my blazer gets similiar result. I will be trying my violator on my typhoon and gladiator on my minicocker that I am building soon...

oh yeah, this question assumes that everything else is setup (ie paint to barrel)
