What is the difference between the e-mag frames with a curve on the back strap and a straight back strap? (this is kind of like the difference between a Colt 1911A1 and 1911, if you are familiar with those guns.) Also, where could I get the newer style frame for an e-mag.

Welcome to AO. Just a heads up, if you use the
feature in the upper right hand corner, you can find a faster answer to your question, as this has been asked many a time.
But, to answer your question, the frames with the "hump" in the back are standard frames. The ones with the straight part in the back are called ULE grip frames. ULE stands for Ultra Light Engineering, which consists of various parts for AGD markers (e-mags specifically) that have been milled to the extreme, so they will be as light as possible without losing any structural strength. You can get a ULE frame by looking in the classifieds, or contacting Tunaman, one of the mods and a respectable dealer on AO.

Ya know it's fashionable these days to say "search" to
the questions that people ask. but I'm curious, dark
how would YOU go about searching the answer to that question.
See, i've been here for a few years
(in fact before AGD bought this place) and like you, have watched the ULE
stuff evolve
So I, like you, know about ULE etc. , but why would
a new person know that ?
What search key words would you use ?
There is no such thing as a stupid question.
And Search is not all-powerfull, especially if you
don't know the right key words.

he never said "oh crap thats a stupid question" he said "just a heads up, you will find it faster if you use the search button." he was helping him by telling him how to find it faster, and he answered his question.
oh, and welcome to AO

Hmm search for (emag, Frame, Different, ULE) and im sure with some combinations of those you would come up with a valid post.
