ive heard around that putting an RT on/off into a classic 68 will give you some of the bounce that RTs have, but not as much. is there any truth to this myth?

Putting a RT on/off valve into a regular AIR valve will function and decrease the pull weight of the trigger due to the smaller on/off pin diameter at the base. Because the AIR valve operates entirely on regulated pressure (same pressure as front chamber), the return force is also reduced. The on/off top of the retro valve supposedly has a smaller hole than the standard AIR on/off top. This restricts air flow. This may cause the return of the trigger rod to be slower than required and could cause short stroking under some conditions.
In short, the RT on/off will work, but there is a price to pay in speed performance.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
