    leaky fill nipple?

I have a leaky fill nipple on brand new 3A HPA tank.
the tank si 71 ci. 4500 psi if that matters. It has a small leak at the fill nipple. I don't know what's the deal, this is the first time I filled the tank.

Does it need any teflon tape on the treads. If not then it is probably the oring inside of the fill nipple. You can probably get one from the auto store.

Props to echo419 for the sig

DO NOT PUT OIL IN THE FILL NIPPLE, IT WILL BECOME EXTREMELY FLAMABLE AND COULD CAUSE YOU HARM

Putting oil in the fill nipple is dangerous. Do not do that. Teflon tape on the threads or the o-ring inside the fill nipple is the answer. Like the Fatjon says you can find the replacement o-ring at an auto parts store.

This happened on one of my crossfire tanks and replacing the o-ring in the fill nipple did the trick.

NEVER put oil inside fill nipple, it will go under high pressure next time you connect fill station.
The dangerous is that the manual of ACI Bulldog II regulator say's to put oil in the fill nipple!!!! My god,!! some one must e-mail them to correct that manual.

now wait a second, if you know what your doing, oil is fine. as long as you use something which SPECIFICALLY says ".. pressures up to 3000 PSI" or something such as that, it will be fine. i personally use grease like that on all my seals.

if your fill nipple is leaking. Don't pay stupid, and oil it. Just reaplace it. B/C the leak will only get worse.

WOW this is new to me. I've always watched my local shop person put 1 drop of oil in their to lube up the oring to prevent leaks. I had one small leak and that did the trick. Why don't they put labels on pb oil saying that it's flamible? My PMI oil says nothing about exploding or in fact any warnings at all and my ProTeam oil doesn't even have a label.
                  Sorry, I'm old
