Why do you play paintball?

2 reasons.

1. Working and tuning the guns are really fun. It is kind of a hobby by itself. Building a gun from the ground up and watching it cane people is a thrill that is unrivaled.

2. I like the competition. Owning people is a rush that very little compares to. Even getting shot up isn't that bad. AND YOU GET TO SHOT PEOPLE!!!!!!

I agree with Hexis, even thought im a noob, i love to charge into large groups firing faster than rambo himself, and if i survive, it makes for great talk off the feild, it has also earned me the respect of being the only brave noob to ever enter my local feild, the rest all hide the whole game just waiting for me to bunker them.

6. My first time playing, I was 11 and walked into the rest area of my local field to find a so-called "tourney player". He had everything a spoiled teenager could get, JT jersey/pants, Angel fully upgraded. He saw me with my rental Tippman and cheap *** mask and laughed. We started, I got him out in less than a minute. So, 6 is shooting the over-confident!

Ove3rmind, i know what you mean, there is an inexplicable component in "feeling the rush". I suppose its just the natural extension ou the human condition itself. Them endorphines.

Comaradery is another reason, after all we are pack "hunters". Not to sound all new age and flowery, but i consider myself an embassidor of/to paintball. And ill give any noob out there, to the best of my knowledge, the striaght dope on paintball info (thats why i dig AO).

I play for a number of reasons... among the ones I can think of currently is because I'm good at it.
That's the only reason I need. I play all positions fairly well (I'm a hardcore speedball player, by the way), and for the first time ever since I've tried doing things, I notice that I actually play better than other people... (Sounds trite, yes. But being a tall, skeleton of a person I can't exactly play sports that are more phyiscally demanding than paintball)

Plus I can't get enough of the adreniline rush. I've noticed, though, that it takes more and more crazy moves to get it... and harder and harder to pull of...

i like it because it gives me a rush that doesnt involve some sort of drug ( i dont do drugs ne ways), and because it freaks me out thinking 20+ people are hunting me down with guns...hehehehe

If you have ever played you don't need to ask. There is just such a wonderful feeling knowing you put someone out of the game, let alone when you have multiple people out. You don't have to be the state champ quarterback or be a track star in order to play well. Paintball can be played and enjoyed by everyone, and will be enjoyed (trust me).

Do you know whats really hard? Trying to forget about paintball for 15 hours. I have once forgot about paintball for 2 or 3 days, because i was backpacking with friends and got completly lost.
