    body rails

I was speculating on whether or not to buy a new body rail. Which one has the guage things (not sure what it is) on the vertical adapter? Which one is the lightest and or most durable? What else will I need to get if I get a new body rail (on/off pins etc.)?

the only body rails that i know of are the omegas, and the benchmark. and rumor has it they don't make omegas any more. neither of them come w/ a regulator none of them come w/ a vertical adaptor for that fact, and why would you want a regulator anyway? a mag already has 1 on it. you wouldn't need any new parts given that you can get the twist lock assembly out of your old 1 (it will be hard to get out, given that it's a press fit)

The vertical Adapter would not be part of the rail. Those are two seperate parts. Rail and Verticle Adapter...

The Omega and the Benchmark were about the two main after market Rails made for the Standard mags. Also Eclipse made some (or at least pattern annoed some) and use to be one carried by National that was similarly patterned but I am not sure who milled them. Similar splash kits to what Eclipse was doing or even perhaps National was carrying them under thier own brand. Most of these are out of normal production. Some are still out there for sale. I know Tunaman here on AO still has some Omega's in Black that I think he will sell some of. And you can look around and see whats availible. Just because they are out of production does not mean there is not any sitting somewhere in stock. You can get a stock rail from AGD. Most new rails do not come with the Twist Lock Assembly and the Rail Bushing so be aware of that. You will need those or scavage them from your old rail. Sometimes easier said than done on that Twist lock...

You want the Two Port Vertical Adapter for the mag. This allows you to put a guage in one side and the Airline in the other and a gas through out the bottom. All 1/8 NPT fittings. They are around as well. But ask for the Mag Two Hole Vertical Adapter. Many have drilled and tapped a single hole for this use as well.

AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!

if you're looking to save weight, talk to roguefactor...he will mill off the excess material from almost any automag rail, but you have to send him one of your own. He won't sell pre-milled versions.
