Okay, heres the deal. I am getting back into the market for a new paintball gun, havent played since my old VM-68 was considered "cutting edge."
From a casual browsing, I have become interested in Mags, be it an RT pro or an Emag. I checked the AGD dealer directory, and went to the 2 local shops listed there.
The first shop had 2 used minimags, and one new one. When I asked about mags in general, I got a rather disgusted reply. They said that the only reason they had a new one was due to an ordering mistake. They said no one really used them anymore. Tired to sell me a cocker. Wall was FULL of cockers.
Second shop didnt have a single mag. They said no one used them anymore. They also said that Cockers came from cali, and therefore were more popular here. Tried to sell me a spyder electric or Tippman A-5, showed me a few cockers.
Now, quite frankly, I don't like the cockers, primarily becasue they are all over the place, but also because they seem to need 20 upgrade parts to work well. I love the looks and theory behind the mag, but I wonder if I'm being realistic with it. I plan on just playing rec ball at first, and maybe just leaving it at that. I'm not looking to spend a fortune right now, but I'd rather pay 500 for a pro than 300 for an electric spyder.
So, any explanations about the attitudes here, and any advice on my desire to get a mag? Also any recommendations about where to get one, or who to buy one from?
Thanks.
