    Newbie price check question

    HI all,

I'm just returning to paintball, and I'm in negotiation to get a used rt pro. Heres what it comes with:

    RT pro
    level 10 installed
    drop forward
    on/off
    68/3000 carbon wrap tank w/cover
    rev. loader
    12" teardrop barrel

His final price is $550 shipped priority insured.

    Good price?

    Thanks for the help all!

        Is the tank adjustable?

I payed $375 I believe it was for an RTP w/ LX and an Intelliframe a few monthes ago along with a Revy I believe.

It's a bit high I'd say if the tank isn't adjustable. for $500 I'd consider it a good, fair deal.

Is the emag really that superior to a rt pro? And Ive only seen emag guns alone costing about that, not packages w/tank. The hopper i could care less about.

I know they wouldnt come with a tank, I was just saying that in case you didnt know. Knowing myself I would just go for the emag because I love it so much And save up for a tank somehow

dont know. ive never shot an emag. but i know that the emag is a retro valve that says emag on it,i think. the emag has hybrid and e mode, ehich makes the trigger lighter and easier to pull.please correct me if im wrong.

Well, its not so much a question of total amount. I make plenty of money, enough to go out and buy an x-mag or angel speed or whatever right now. The problem is this: I'm just getting back into the game, and though I think I'll stick with it, I'm not positive. The only thing I AM positive of is that I want a mag. Therefore I'll buy a quality used marker, play around, then buy a new one if I stick with it, or trick out the one I have.

I just saw an E-mag for $500, so I might try that route. Thats w/stock barrel, no tank, no hopper, but tanks and hopper package deals run $160, and barrels are, what, $50 for a teardrop? With a drop, that puts me at about $750 for an emag with a new barrel, hopper, and tank. So is an emag a $200 better marker than an rt pro. The Emag had level 10 included, also.

if you want to shoot insaneley fast, take the emag. the rtp can also shoot very fast, depending on your trigger finger.

I think it's a pretty good deal. $500 would be a very good deal for you.

I have both a Mag with RetroValve and an Emag and I, too, question why I bought the Emag. The emag is just great, but I'm a rec player...

Thanks for the replies so far! Keep em comin!

Kevmag, im norcal too, where do you play?

I still don't know what to do. Opinions seem evenly divided on the price. It seems an emag, in total, would run about $200 more. Now, if I get out, I'm going to need to dump the gun, so its gotta be able to be sold again. Also, If I stay in, I'll probably buy an x-mag, since money isnt really a problem. Its more a question of value and fairness. So would the rt pro be sufficient for some rec ball, and is it more difficult to shoot faster with, maintain, or operate in general than an emag?

At this point I think its more of what you want, both will do the trick and since money isnt a problem... however I believe the emag holds its resale value better than an RT pro

I'm in San Jose and play at Santa Clara Paintball (though not for a month or so).

It's a tough decision, but either way you can't go too wrong...
