i have a friend who plays on a smart parts team

he got to shoot one of the 2k3 shockers as well as the 2k3 maxflo tanks

he said that the shockers shoot and feel similar to an impulse with a closed-bolt touch

he also told me that the 2k3 maxflo tanks would be available in 5000psi versions

and can you tell me a place that fills to 5k?
                i doubt it
and there is a good chunk of change for only 500psi

Actually, you can rent 6K psi tanks of industrial nitrogen from welding supply houses.

A lot of larger fields will "gang" a bunch of these together with some heavy-duty plumbing, and run that through a large Victor regulator to provide 4,500 psi. When the tanks have dropped below 4,500, they'll move them to the 3K psi manifold and get some more time out of them.

Then when they're below 3K, they'll set them aside for a "cascade" fill- IE, if your gun tank only has a thousand psi in it, they'll use a tank that has, say, 2,100 psi to bring the gun up a little, so the big main fill tanks last a little longer.

Lots of compressors and some boosters can, with mild adjustments, provide 5K psi as well.

Yes, it's some effort for a mere 500 psi, but that could be another full pod to a back player.

                  Doc.

the price tag seems alittle steep for what it offers hopefully they'll come down in price once they've been out for a while. However somehow I doubt they will suck, although it probably will have many problem associated with a new remodeled gun.

yeah i know they "CAN" fill to 5k
are compressor at the firehouse will fill to
6k but im saying it is very unlikly that anyone will fill
                      that.
and for a $121 dollar price difference (pmi tanks)
its not even close to being worth it

my field, Brush Fire Games in German Town, Wisconsin has a 8000 psi compressor... and they can fill up to 5000psi anytime you need them to, no questions asked... and its only $1 per 1000psi, or $5 for an All-Day Air pass for players with a membership card

there have only been 2 fields that cant fill up to 5k that i have been to. One being because you do it yourself and its 100% regulated to 4.5k and only that. And the other just being way behind with only filling to 3k.

Why is it unlikely that anyone will fill to that??? Most tournament compressors used, put out above 4500psi anyway.

One of the big advantages in my eye of the 5000psi tank is that you can actually get a cold 4500psi fill. Instead of it being 3900-4000 when it cools off.
