    co2 vs hpa

alright guys, i have a question-type-thing... well, a few weeks ago, i was browsing around looking for a cheap n2 tank. as i was asking my friend about a number of things concerning n2, he started saying stuff like "mags were made before n2, so u don't need it, ur gun will run fine on co2".... obviously this is not the case, considering that in the past month or so that i have been using my mag, i have notice severe drop off and massive fluctuations in velocity.... so i was wondering, were n2 tanks around when the first few mags came out, if not, were mags designed differently to work better with co2?

Classic 'Mags were made before Co2 and yes, they do run fine on Co2. No, HPA tanks were not really around. People ran their guns differently. First off, you had to have an expansion chamber. Secondly, alot of players ran on remote, lastly many players began using anti-siphon tanks. All of which helped. Also keep in mind, everyone else at the time was running Co2, so everyone had the same problems.

However now HPA is the standard, and it performs much better then Co2.

No you don't need HPA, yes it's better..

it was posted eariler in this thread, yes Mags were around before HPA, and the cl;assic valve willrun off of CO2, but the RT valves will not, I say again NOT, run off CO2.

I forget who said it before, no you don't need CO2 in a classic, but HPA will run better.

CO2 will run great on a Mag with an AIR valve, just as good as an AIR valve on HPA. It's just like Doc Nickle says, running CO2 on guns actually requires some forethought to get things to run smoothly instead of just screwing in an HPA tank.

I've had great luck running my mag off of CO2. I do, however, run an anti-siphon tank through an expansion chamber. I've never had a problem with it, even when the outdoor temperature has been in the high 30's.
