Actually, my "Green Cannon" 'Cocker is serial number 6880 and came from the factory as a 'Cocker.

You'll have to go back as far as about the mid-teens or early twenties to have a true pre-Cocker Sniper.

I would'nt exactly say the feedneck was "yanked".
After repeated failures by said autococker to function properly as a paintball gun 1 day about 5 years ago I decided to test it's viability as a projectile, and began subjecting it to an appropriate battery of, um, aerodynamic tests. It had good range, but as you can see, I found the durability lacking.
By the bye, This example started life as an actual Sniper. Pnuematics were added later. I have a friend who has serial number 64?? and that too was a Sniper. Maybe there were still a few around being made. I have no clue.

A guy I played with had a really old Sniper he picked up at a Flea Market for $50... Took it to the WGP booth at D-Day, they told him it was a '89 Sniper 1 (I can't remember the serial number, I want to say 1500's but I don't know for sure), and traded him a brand new 2k3 cocker for it! It was the equivilent of buying a 2k3 cocker for $50! I'm soooo jealous... Especially since it came with a Dye Ultralight from the Flea Market!

My minicocker is serial number 1795. My seccond minicocker is 2246

Numbering for the mini's was seperate, so they hypothisize they are mid 95 and a 96 mini.
