    Paintballs Breaking in barrel

My current setup is a Retrovalve minimag, with a Dye 14" aluminum barrel. I was shooting RPS Marbalizer and All-star paint and it was breaking about halfway down the barrel. My velocity was set to 280fps. I had been shooting marbalizer and and RPS gold before without the ball breakage problem. The only difference I could tell was that it was about 39 degrees Fahrenheit out instead of about 50. Would this be a major problem or can anyone thing of something else?

The cold can have a very powerful effect on paintballs. It will make the fill thicker and can cause accuracy issues and a more painful hit.

You should check out Tom's new "tech tip#4" at the top of this page. It talks about the recent trend for more fragile shells.
