How Do You.....

.... handle a loud mouth punk, playing with in the rules, but generaly ruining the day? He and his two friends had been allowed into a group of rentals. Even though I am a gun owner, I was included in the group because I knew a couple of the guys. The ref split up the teams putting me with the three kids and few of the rentals. In the first two games these three would gang up on whomever was on their oposing side of the field. They DO have skills and I asked around and found out they are 3-man team that plays the local tournies. They would high-five each other after the games and laugh about how much they owned.

Now my style is to hang back and swing left to right to give cover fire or even paint to the rentals so that they are the ones dueling it out with each other,pointing out decent bunkers and overall letting my teammates know where the oposing team was at. I would prefer they have a good time and come back next week/next month/next year so that the field will be open next week/next month/next year. That is my opinion. I can and do hold my own on the speedball fields. There are two curent Aftershock players from my home field. Played with and against them. Usually got eliminated but not after a fierce duel. But today we were playing the woods and mounds fields.

I switched teams after 2 games of these punks ruining things for their opponents. And intentionally placed myself at their opposite. They complained that I was too good and ruining their games to the ref. He chuckled but did nothing. They tried to move to the otherside of the field and I would move with them. One time/last game tho I let them switch sides of the field. Helped my rental partner eliminate our only oposition and ended up flanking the the three punks. I felt bad about lighting them up from behind but it felt so good breaking all that paint on their backsides. My rental partner and I high-fived afterwards, the three punks cried to the field owner, I and the ref explained what had gone on all day. The owner laughed out loud and congratulated us on the great move. The three stooges called mom and went home.

Whew!! That was a long story. Anyways what I am looking for are some creative ways to "hinder" these three kids' game without getting in TOO much trouble. These kids are regulars so that I would have many chances to do things to them. A couple of the new rentals were starting to balk at going back out on the field with these 3 stooges. Any and all suggestions will be seriously considered.

Step 4. Go get a first aid kit. There will be some severely damaged egos that will need to be attended to

I say you did the right thing. Maybe next time try to talk to them and tell them how they are acting... and if they continue, do what you did.

There is more to the sport than winning.... and I respect the kid that gets eliminated every game but tries his hardest and still keeps a good additude.... the same can't be said about those who are like the ones you just posted about.

if i were you, i would get back at them by practicing and practicing. i would get so good i would be able to take all of them. i would challenge them to a 1 on 3 (since you know some refs, i bet the refs would let you). just take them all on at once and whoop their butts. that should put them in their place.

just keep on whooping them and beating the crap out of their ego by not shooting them yourself (they already know youre good), but covering NOOBS and giving them a chance to hit them. and after the game ask them "hey buddy, i thought you were good! you just got shot out by a noob!" and if you dont want to talk to them, just yell "NOOBIFIED!!!" after any one of them gets shot.

but if you wanna make it fun, take a thumb tack and tape it into one of the portings in their barrels! every single ball will break!!

The thumb tack might be too obvious, so use wire. Also, for fun you could put a quarter in their hoppers, nothing will feed.

I hadn't thought of the tack. I was thinking of something like water or vegetable oil in a full hopper. Kinda *** up the works.

You did the right thing. And, I love the ref chuckling about how they were whining about you ruining their game.
When I play, I never take the rental guys into account. I usually try to mark the more expierenced guys first. Not that I'm King Paintball, but I think there is more fun in trying to mark someone more on my skill level. And that level is about an inch higher than a rental guy.

As to what you can do...

1. Warn you team about "those guys," and tell them how they play. (i.e. where they go, how they move...)

2. Have your entire team aim for them. It always suck when you are the first out. (That one is a little underhanded.)

3. Get the ref to break them up. If they claim to be so good then it wouldn't matter would it?

when we had a loud mouth we simply had the whole team fire at the ofensive player he would usally be out with in 10-20 seconds, thats how we played tourneys wed watch for the best players on teh team and have all 5 of our guys work the lanes and that players bunker, some teams would actually fall apart after that...
