dye stainless paint to bore match?

    Hey guys,

Does anybody know which paint provides a good match for the Dye Stainless? I like shooting marbs and hellfire but they are both a little too small, roll down the barrel.

My experience with DYE is they aren't very precise. I had a TI boomstick that measured .698. They are good about replacing some of the oddly oversized ones. Try to get a barrel system like Scepter or Pipe.

I've used a DYE Stainless for a long while. It's pretty much handled everything i've put through it, and it is rather accurate, up to a resonable distance.

But from the DYE products i've used, I have some serious doubts about their moniker "Dye Precision"

Are you sure all marbs roll down your barrel? When i got my Ultarlite, I checked it with some evil paint. about 1 in 5 would just roll out the barrel, but the others only took a small puff. To my knowledge, marbs and evil are the same size and have the same shell. I was curious so I mic'd the ID of my barrel, and guess what??? .695" That is a far cry from .688, especially for those of us who do precision work. It shoots great for me, and I don't plan on sending it back anytime soon.

            Weird

Well I *just* got a new case of marbs and they fit fine in my stainless. I guess I just had a smaller batch or something...odd.

paint sizes are generally only close in the case or even batch that you have. One batch can vary a lot from another, that's why unlike barrel manufactures, paint manufactures don't advertise ball sizes. They deal more with shell thickness and fill thickness because the size is easily effected by temperature and moisture.

Guyz, it's the barrel, not the paint. Mic it. I bet if everyone who has a boomstick mics it and posts the result on a forum, we could all laugh together. Also, I had an old DYE jersey (can't speak for the new ones) and that thing came apart SOOOOO fast. My DYE gloves lasted me about 10 days of play (as a back player). I haven't bought anything DYE for a year and a half now. Don't know if I will again, but I'll keep the Ti boomer just cuz it sounds cool when I bang it up against stuff.
