big ball or PMI premium. Team colors suck, they don't break very well, I've gotten quite a few bounces from certain individuals who have used them.

Don't forget, though, if you run a Halo or any marker that uses an IR reflective eye, stay away from black paint. Even half shelled.

Makes "it" so everyone can play paintball. Basicly it's a store for the paintball players, not store owners.

Everything is sold at pretty much cost. he said it doesn't make a difference if he makes a profit of 10,000 or 100,000 since it's an ACE Hardware store and they're happy if he breaks even, just to get people in the store. So Big Ball goes for $30, PMI Premium about $34, Blaze is $39 and so on.. all fresh since he sells out so fast. he buys in the truck loads and it sells quick, lol

Everything in this store is cheap.

If yer ever in Stockton CA, go to the ACE Hardware store, cheap paintball stuff :)

                Damn, small world, lol

You will want to call the store first and ask if they have any in before you make the trip. He buys it by the truck load and that place gets swarmed and it's gobe before you know it. last time they sent the wrong stuff so all he had was a ton of PMI premium, but $34 a case isn't bad either :)

Call the Stockton ACE Hardware and ask for Rob or.. uh I forgot the other duders name, just ask for the paintball dept.

If yer gonna make a drive.. hell buy 5 cases and make out like a bandit, hehehe. It's all very fresh stuff.

this is why I got back into paintball.. cheap crap was $120 a case, it was too expensive to kep shooting like I wanted to with my Automag.. $30 a case? HELL YEAH!!! I bring two cases with me and paint bunkers no ones at for the hell of it

Plus I'm a "great guy" when I hand people on my team my pods when they run out of paint.

Someplace Special was... ugh.. it was bad. They charged WAY too much for everything and as soon as Greg left to work for Paintball Inc. it all went down hill from there. Gary (the owner) was mad because business dropped ever since "the Internet", he complained "oh theses kids can just go on the internet and buy all their stuff for half the price now"

I wanted to go "well... YEAH! Cause you're ripping us all off!" lol. But I've known Gary for a long time so i just nodded.. I never go into Someplace Special anymore.. the new kids they have working there are jerks. i went into buy a Dye Ultralight and I noticed they had paint crusted in the porting.. I asked if they were new and the asshat goes "yeah, uh we test all the barrels out before we sell them and stuff, do you want the barrel or not?"

So I headed out and luckily ACE Hardware had the Ultralights. The barrel I was looking at had a small scratch.. the guy pulled out a handful of new ones in the package and said check them out and pick which one I want.. Isn't that how you're supposed to treat your customers?

Big Ball is something like $32.89 after taxes and they have no problem with you opening the box and checking for broken balls, just hard to in the store because it is always packed full and people are asking questions left and right, buying stuff and fixing guns. It's really a heaven for paintballers.

pito189, e-mailed ya back. Yeah PMI premo is good.. not so good the first time I used it, one of them broke inside my Halo.. ya know how many Q-tips it took to clean that?!? lol. But since then it has shot perfect.

go on www.pbgear.com and look at their paints.

Either order 2 or 3 cases at a time, or get some friends who play to order with you. Orders over $100 gets you free shipping....and they seem to ship paint very well.

                        Big Ball - $42 a case
                        PMI Premium - $45 a case
                        Diablo Blaze - $45 a case
                        Nelson Anarchy - $48.95 a case

Then theres some really cheap stuff, not sure how good it works. But you can get down to like $30 bucks a case on some of the Zap stuff.

But for some good decent paint i'd go with the 4 listed up above...just get some friends together and order :)

ya, I use www.pbgear.com for my paint, fairly reliable... Anyone know anything about Nelso Hotspot paint? Other than that it has a weak fill... Most of the local people are pretty honest.

                            ToyotaBoy:

Black absorbs the light the IR tries to reflect off the paint. If you use black paint on a reflective eye in the marker, it might not fire because it doesn't think there is a ball in the chamber. If you use a Halo B, the loader will keep running the motor even though the balls are all backed up and burn it out (shot 2 halos in one day doing that. :o )

I did some work up there in 97 for a medical provider. Back then it was pretty quite, not that many big name store. Then in early 2001, I passed through on my was to SF and it changed alot! The first thing I noticed was the larger traffic. Has the area gotten more busy?
