    marker advice for a newb

im loking for advice on which marker i should get, right now im using a cheesy electric gun.I got some good tips from freindly corner.I play in the woods on weekends so durability is important, price im hoping to keep under $500 including air.I have been told the automag is somewhat close to range and accuracy to a cocker,is this true.Any advice would be much appreciated:)

    Sigh

Would it be enough if I just told you, that they are exactly the same? And it just depends on what barrel you have, type of paintballs, and velocity of the gun?

Or do I have to go into the physics

        ok, heres the deal:

-the range is the same with EVERY paintball gun on the planet (except for a Z-body mag, flatline barrel, and correctly used undertow bolt).

-accuracy is debate-able, but it really comes down to paint-to-barrel match, and how much kick a gun has

if you play in the woods on the weekends and you want durability, i would go for either a tippman A-5 (very upgradeable, NICE gun), or a classic mag

Cockers are very nice guns and you could probally handle it and give it to shop to get it timed and eventually learn how to time it yourself. There are alot of places that can leak though, and upgrades can get expensive. Mags are a really simple design and there are usually only 3 things that can go wrong..
          1. Bad reg seat, you can tell if this is the problem by listening to the leak and if its coming out of the back of the valve, then its most likely a bad reg seat.
          2. Bad on/off. Its usually (80%) an oring
          3. Power tube spacer/Level 10 carrier is probally the wrong length/size

Mags are fairly easy to maintain, all you need is a few drops of oil and you are good.

Tippmanns are great guns but I think you said you would like to move on to higher end markers.

BKOs as I've heard are fairly decent markers, you could get one of those new or get a used bushmaster (great guns) I dont reccomend an Impulse as Smart Parts is not known for their customer service.
I reccommend going with a mag.
For under 500 you can get a very nice mag setup, ReTro or Classic, it doesnt matter they are both awesome guns.

I&I sports has a BKO package deal going on right now. $579.00 for the gun, 12v Revy, 68ci 3000psi tank, cradle, lines, 3+2 harness w/ pods, and a padded gun case. They may even through in their Jt back pack knock off for free as well. If the have any left. Other then that get a mag. You can run them over with a truck, screw a tank on it afterwards, and fire away.
