v3.0 Software info?

Anyone have any solid info regarding the features that will be in the v3.0 software for e/xmags? I've seen myriad mentions of "wait til 3.0", etc. and it seems some people are in-the-know somewhat.

So how about a teaser or something more concrete than "just wait!!!"...? Hmmm...? Pleeze...?

Here's a short list of things I'd like to see:

1: Better timer(mins/secs down to 3 at least instead of 5; always on feature once timer activated)
2: no cap on ROF
3: Maybe on-board diagnostic check available to measure voltages, or whatever.
4: Battery charge status if possible (50% charge, full charge, etc.)


I DO like the simplicity of the software - not a lot of wasteful features that are on other guns (temperature and humidity? c'mon, what a joke).

Regarding ROF Cap - Yes, i've heard many people say "if you can't pull that fast, don't worry about it". Just remove the cap and those of us that want the cap removed can quit asking and those that don't care about the cap can quit saying "can you pull that fast"... I think with the ACE and the LX, that any cap is simply irrelevant anymore. Let those two features "set the cap" as it were.

1) I agree. Let the timer go down further than 4 minutes or something.

What I CAN tell you about 3.0 is that they are implementing something with the ACE eye, where if the eye doesn't see anything in the breech, the gun will send the signal to the warp to spin and prime it. (No more white button)

The other features were told to a few people at the Megameet, but we don't know if they are being implemented or not. So I'd rather not get your hopes up.

I dont see the point to cap ROF... except to like 35 or something stupid high, so it doesnt blow up or something

Well that batery thing is not going to really happen because teh way NIMH batteries work. This has been covered adnausim in other post.

The Timer thing shouldnt be a big issue

Something I woul dlike to see is a Module you can plug into the Basic Stamp slot that add a VIBRATION alert for the timer like whats in the Angel. I have cut some games way way too damn close because I have to futz with my gun to see the timer.

ooohh.. like having an un-capped ROF is like stealing cable, ooooh!!!!!

Come on... it's stupid. Give me ONE good reason for a ROF cap with a mag and lvl X. What are we bound by with a ROF cap? Does it prevent us from playing copied games on our Xbox's? What the hell good is it? The lvl X solved everything bad about a mag including world hunger.

Having a ROF cap on a gun that cannot chop a paintball is like putting a screen door on a submarine.

simply put a 16bps gun is safer than a 30bps gun...thus the insurance cost for AGD would be higher on a 30bps gun...thus costing more to you. Thats reason #1 you don't see OEM Full Auto, Burst, etc much anymore

Please explain how it "costs" AGD more money.

Do all the other gun manufacturers which put out guns that can shoot greater than 16 bps experience this additional insurance "cost"? (i.e. Timmy, AKA, Impulse, Angel, RT M98, etc.)

What about WAS and their Equalizer? Do they also get tagged with this additional insurance "cost"?

I didn't realize insurance "cost" was related to how fast your gun can shoot...

Another thing that would be nice would be the shot light reinstated. When you pull the trigger, the little light at the bottom lights up... Used to be a feature a few versions ago...

I agree, for tourney purposes alow less than 5 minute countdowns.

On X-Mag software 2.21 it's 24 bps, on X-Mag software 2.4 it's 20 bps.

AGD buys insurance for themselves. If Jimmy sues AGD for 2million dollars, the insurance company pays for that, not agd(well, a small deductable, but whatever)

If AGD sells 30bps markers, it costs them more in monthly insurance bills than if they sell 1bps markers. Why? Theres a much better chance of all hell breaking lose and ultimately an eye getting shot out with a 30bps marker than a 1bps marker. Same reason FA has bit the dust from most comapnys. Fields don't allow it because of insurance costs and manus dont make it because of insurance costs.

I would imagine AGD has insurance and that plays a big role...however I don't have insight into the inner workings of the comapny. Who knows. Its just one logical reason why they would cap at 16bps...and not go up to 24+



secondly, the board programming for the 16bps capped makrers (1.37) was made prolly a year and a half ago...if not longer

I dont think that is correct, although i am usually wrong.

Insurance is based on stats. So there would have to be lots of little jimmy's that actually win cases to cause insurance company's at a certian BPS to increase their rates.

remember the bps self imposed cap a few years ago? I dont think it had anything to do with safety and more to do with trying to do the right thing w/o all the evidence, kinda like this trigger bounce rule.

BPS has absolutly nothing to do with safety. Now f/a, I believe, does.
