AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
You can get those at a hardware store. They come with standard screwdriver heads, though. They are 10/32 machine screws, I believe. You just need to find the right length. (You may want to doublecheck that sizing)
So you are telling me that you have stripped the front and rear screws in one fell swoop? That is some feat! The gun is less than a week old...these screws are just SNUG...not very tight...are you turning it the right way?
Is the actual threading stripped, or just where the wrench goes in? If only the hole for the wrench, order a new screw from AGD, if the actual threads are gone, you'll have to send the gun in to get re-tapped.
The rear screw needs to have the vlave pushed forward a little in order for the holes to line up, as you do this you will feel the screw trying to go into the hole. Gently screw in the bolt until it is firmly seated, you do not need to use the wrench to cinch it up. That is why it's called a "thumbscrew".
Leave it alone for now. The gun is new...you don't have to take the body off for months! Read the manual...watch the video...always make SURE the allen wrenches are inserted ALL the way before you try to turn them. I have plenty of screws...dont worry about that. Send it back to me if you want and I'll get the screw out. Get your self a 1/8" T-Handle allen wrench. That is what I use to remove those screws. Have patience...don't be a butcher...
Whew...I thought that I was in deep trouble!
Only the part where the wrench goes in is stripped on the front frame screw. The Threads are intact. So, how would I go about removing it now, since an allan wrench will not stick?
If you want to fix it yourself...here is how. Get a hacksaw...take the blade out. Turn the gun upside down and insert the blade through the trigger guard and re-attatch the blade to the hacksaw. Proceed to cut a slot in the screw. Now take a butter knife or something hard and flat and turn the screw with that. Got it?
