The DYE/cocker craze, and how I fight it

I was talking to a guy at work, and he was telling me that he was interested in a cocker. He had even shot one, and he said he wasnt real impressed. But he was going to get one anyway, since his friend will make fun of him if he got anything else. I offered the idea of a mag. He didn't seem to like that idea, since his friend had told him tons of bad things about them. His friend also wears all the DYE stuff he can get his hands on, and now he has influenced him to buy only DYE junk. Well, after one look at my E-Mag, and feeling the trigger, he is set on buying an RT Pro. The DYE thing remains, but I guess there isn't anything you can do. Anyone else have this problem with people they know? DYE taking over the minds of co-workers?

DYE makes good stuff, even it is expensive. I can't speak first hand about their markers but I know all their gear is top-notch.

their cockers are a complete JOKE. My teammate just bought one, and has had it leak from about 5 different places, the ram is a piece (the seal compresses and gets stuck at times), the "adjustable" reg was not adjustable (it could only adjust within 20 psi), the lpr leaked, as did the 3way. Now the leaks were all fixed (by one of my other teammates) as was the ram (with new orings). The "adjustable" hp reg is still not working worth a damn. So we have to adjust velocity via the plug in the back of the gun. Becuase of this, his efficiency is kinda lacking, at least compared to what it SHOULD be at with a properly setup cocker.

Maybe these problems are why DYE had a cocker blowout this month? hmmmm. Dropping the dealer price by over $200. Ya, sounds about right. Dump the crap guns quickly by droppin the price.


Now, I wear dye pants. I love them. I even have a dye hat. But i wouldn't be caught dead shooting a dye gun, especially after the problems this gun had right out of the box. Now i'm not judging them just on this gun, i've seen many other ultralite and reflexes with these problems (just not all at the same time). Someone needs some quality control.

I really have no faith in DYE products. Everything i have bought from them haas been average quality. I bought there shorts, they look extremly high quality, but thye are very thin, rip easily, and fall apart. Same with some of the DYE shirts i have purchacsed, and i was so saddend by the DYE Invsion. For the price i paid, i got normal quality mask. I could have gotten a Flex for 40 dollars cheaper, and to me, they are more comfortable and are better quality

Dye paintball apparel is awesome but they come shrot in the marker section. I think i like the pro flex better than the Invision but I wont say until I try it in a few games.

I dont have anything against dye either. Granted all i have of dye products is the sticky grips on my intelli and the jersey on my back, the products seem to work fine. I would have alot more dye gear but unfortunatly you have to pay them big bucks for them to sew a small patch reading "Dye" on your shirt.

I have no experience with their guns, but I love the DYE pants, and the ultralite is the best barrel I've ever had, they also have the best tank covers IMO.

I'm going to second that. I wasnt very happy with my mag. In fact, i hated it, but I LOVE my cocker :) . Maybe mags can regain my trust with the ULE body and Xvalve. I was thinkin of gettin an all black tunamag, but i have to shoot on first.

i hated my mag too. now i have a black magic. i dont think happiness is a word with enough meaning to express my joy and love. it is the single best thing i have ever owned in my entire life. i love it good...it feels so much better then my mag, its hard to ocmpare them. my mags powerfeed pissed me off, the tube design was weird, and the twistlock barrel made me laugh. now dont get me wrong, i want an E-mag...they are very very cool. but my classic did nothing to please me in any way shape or form. i was highly dissapointed.

as for DYE and clothing? i wear a Reebok shirt from the mid 90s, and old cargo pants when i play. im perfectly comfortable and feel good in them...plus i didnt waste a ton of cash on regurlar pants that are kinda ugly(IMHO) with a dumb logo on them that all the 12 year old "my mommy bought me everything i own" tourney wannabes wear. im perfectly happy with my $10 ensemble.
