Need help.....have question about nitrogen tank.....

Well, i have a 48cu 3K PSI PMI pure energy nitrogen tank. I was at PBgear.com yesterday and they filled my tank up. i didnt check to see if he over filled it or not but the guy wasnt too bright and he was filling it for a long time. i get home screw it in and all teh air spits out that saftey thing on my ASA. I unscrewed it and the air was still coming out and kept coming out till it emptied. OK, i have had that saftey feature (the little hole on the side) kick in before but it has never continued to spew air out after i unscrewed. so i went to my local shop and got a new o ring and filled again. screwed it in and it happened again spewing the air out the saftey feature thing on the side, although this time it didnt continue after i unscrewed it. so i go get ANOTHER o ring and new macroline and give it a third try......happens again. i screw it in and all seems normal for 3 seconds....it holds in....then all the sudden it shoots out.

is it possible to ruin a tank by over filling or by filling it up incorrectly......i had no problems before my fill. if it is possible.....is there any chance of compensation from them or is there somthing i am overlooking to fix it? ive spent another $20 trying to fix it and its quite aggrivating.

please help me out, thanks guys.

*NOTE* this all happened while i was attempting to install my lvlX......mabey i did somthing wrong? but i dont think the air is even getting to the valve.

Do you mean a little hole in the side of your asa adapter (where the tank screws into the gun)? Or, do you really mean that you blew out a burst disk in the tank reg? Wait a sec... do n2 tanks have burst disks like co2 tanks?? You tank is a preset input pressure? If not, that should be checked or if it is preset, maybe it got messed up somehow. In general, unless you really know what you are doing (and from your question I doubt you do (don't be offended most of us don't)) I wouldn't mess with HPA. Take it somewhere that knows what they are doing with them. If your local shop can't help, maybe a scuba shop can at least give you some info by looking at it.

also, the o-ring you kept replaceing, is it the one on top of the reg that screws into your asa adapter? If that keeps getting messed up, the o-rings might be the wrong size, or getting cut when screwed in.

yes im talking about the hole on the side of the ASA and yes it is a preset. i suppose it could be that the o ring is getting cut when i screw it in.....though i doubt that would have happened twice in a row. i guess ill start by going to my local field, then PMIs offices then AGDs offices because who knows i may have messed up my valve while installing lvl10.

If you unscrew your tank from the ASA there is no way that the air continued to spit out the hole in your ASA. Please explain what happened better. I doubt he damaged your tank.

Take something hard or the corner of something hard and push the pin from the pin valve in there really hard, then release. Sometimes I find if you do that it'll make the pin valve re-seat properly and it wont give you any more sass.

If it continues to leak air out of the hole in the ASA before it seals and the gun gets enuogh air, put a tank o-ring in the ASA first, then screw your tank in.

See if either of those things fix it.

i think that second thing may have worked mossman.....though it may just be because its about out of air and doesnt have enough pressure to shoot out again? ill give the first thing a try tomorrow morning after i drain the air. thanks for the advice.

The same thing happened to me when I had my pe tank, air came out the hole in the asa. Just move the pin around or if that doesn't work, try putting an o ring between the asa and the tank

                asa o-ring tank

                (((( o (/////

yeah had to put an o ring in the asa and it worked.....but ive played 5 times with the gun and never had to......it makes it much harder to unscrew with the o ring in there.
