I think that's plumber's tape on the SS hose. I remember a recent thread about it being a good way to keep SS hose from scratching the ano job. And you can get it at most hardware stores.

i believe he used black electrical tape. you can get it at any menards,lowes, home depot. it also comes in other colors like red,yellow,green,i even got a blue one. i cant find the blue anymore though.
