I wonder if there are any of those Colonials floating around out there. That would be a cool collectors piece.
It came to a point in my life when it was either pay the rent or buy paintball gear. I think I made the wise choice. If anyoneone needs me I'm livin in a van down by the river.

                    found it:
Paintball Talk is the main forum for Automags.org. Here is where we talk about the sport of paintball in general and make announcements relating to the forum and website.

coupla quotes from my above thread for the lazies out there:

Not that Im argueing, if thats where they said they got the name, then aparently, thats where they got the name.

The Automag was used in Sudden Impact, as mentioned. It is referred to as the "Automag" when Harry is taking some target practice. It was a semi-automatic pistol, with an appearance much like a Luger, and yes, very similar to an AGD Automag, especially when equipped with a SS barrel.

                      not the first one...
                      maybe the second...i can't remember

and yes it was exactly like the automag pictured in this thread already
except that in actuality it wasn't an automag at all...
it was a custom copy of it...there were two made for the movie
i'll try to dig up the last thread on this...
                      it's better expained there

                            my 2 cents

ARMY covers the subject extremely well. I just wanted to add that the 44 Automag is by no means a small handgun. The .44 rem mag, is no where near the most powerful "handgun" in the world. There are many manufacturers who take rifle cartridges and build handguns around them. The .308 win. in my opinion makes a very powerful "handgun". Not to mention the many offerings from the Thompson Center Contender. One of my personal favorites was the .357 harret, where they took a 3030 and necked it up to a .357. You want to talk about "power".
One more thing, in the same way that a .38 spec is not 38 cal, the 50AE is not a 50 cal. It is against federal law for anybody to manf. any handgun bigger than .49. How they came up with those figures, who knows?

ahhh, so we both are right. It was sudden impact, like I said, and it was also a diry harry movie. Or was it really a dirty harry movie, or a Clint Eastwood movie(like was it a different character, just same actor?)?
