Has anyone actually GOT an omen yet?

I know a few people have Omens, but I havent seen a thread about its performance yet! Even though I know about it a little, my knowledge comes from a pre release model and its different. Im interested in it (mainly because of the new price) Does anyone have a review they can give me? The more comprehensive the better

    Thanks

BTW why does it look like a big block of plastic? (its not ... right? )

A few AO members have them, I think hitmang was one of them. So they should answer soon.

We have one. Can't really give you a detailed review since I've got alot on my plate today. I'll give you the summary version....

First of all the cam feed thing really works. We've only got to take it out once and the field limit was 280 fps so we dialed it in at 270. At that level we didn't chop a single ball. The last bag of paint we used, however, had a ton of barrel breaks. When I did the blow test on that last bag, however, I couldn't for the life of me blow the ball through the barrel. I huffed and I puffed.

Trigger is really light. The trigger pretty much feels like the Piranha eForce. It is adjustable and it you could sweet spot it without trying. It is semi auto only.

Doesn't feel as smooth as my retromag. Not really something really noticeable and it could be my imagination. Like Piranha's it is very easy to field strip and clean (comparable to a mag).

Chronoing the marker is not simple. You have to set the recock pressure and the velocity. It isn't really too hard, however, and an idiot like myself got it right on the first time so it was shooting legally and not chopping paint. Of course I got Level 10 on the first time as well so maybe I'm not as stupid as I think.

One annoying thing is that PMI/Evil did not include a cover for the charge port. I need to jury rig something so paint doesn't get in there from a marker hit.

All in all a good marker. Pretty happy with it. It is very nice to have two markers that don't chop paint. Playing time has gone up and cleaning in the staging area has gone down.

Nope. Here is a video of a guy shooting an Omen

According to someone who did a sound test on the file he was averaging 10 bps and had some bursts up to 13 bps. Hope that answers your question.

we won 5 of them at a pmi tourney
team kept one of them and we are selling the rest
                only have one left.

                anyway they are metal falcon
i think they shoot rather well
trigger is very easy to pull
trigger design takes a little to get used to but dont take very long.
                cam works well
                havnt chopped yet

all in all for the price they are very good guns.

                later

They are metal (as the post above me stated). They actually appear pretty sturdy. They really are a pretty good marker. I prefer my retromag but my stepson loves the Omen. Now everyone is happy. Just got to upgrade the wife (even if she is happy with the Rebel ) and we'll be the next family to conquer the tournament scene.

Okay that is my dream but the wife snorts with derision at the idea of playing any more paintball then she already does (once every two to three months). So it is as they say a rainbow bridge. All beauty and no substance......

EDIT: Actually I think I may have bought one of the ones team BAM won on Ebay. Not sure.

last weekend i played with a guy who said he had one. He said the feed system worked well, but overall he compared it to an impulse.

He also said it came with tons of "bad polishing job" marks all over it. He sent it back to the factory to get it replaced. He was contemplating just selling it when he got it back then getting an eblade for his cocker ;P

Guess it was just a matter of time till I posted, right Aaron? LoL
The Omen truley is a great gun, performace wise it would have a alot on guns begging for mercy It is very durrable and very fast, it will NEVER chop, and stock, it performs very nice. You do not have to get a aftermarket barel unless you plan on getting a barrel kit. It's comes with a microdrop and a on/off asa. It's a very tight gun, and is capped at 15 bps, with future boards letting it do up to 25 bps. Constistancy wise the regulator compares in every way to the Max flow. The gun runs at about 200 psi stock, and gets get efficiancy with 1800 shots out of a crossfire 68/4500, and 1200 of a 68/3000.
Buy all means the Omen is worth the price, and in the future I see great thing for it..upgrades and all.
I was one of the first people to get a Omen and I have had it now for about 2 months, I really love it.....But as Aaron said he like mags better, while I was at IAO got to shoot a X-mag, and guess what, I desided to try and sell my Omen for $400 and get a X-mag. I plan on buying the X-mag, saving for a bit and getting another Omen in a few months as a back up to the X-mag...kind of like Aaron, but my mag will be better, lol.

Oh and that video Aaron gave you....that's me and my omen

-sorry for spelling it's late and I do not feel like reading over it

                          Greetings,
And if you can't afford a revy or halo or whatever, it will rock your socks off with a plain ole VL200!
It is not at the level of a finely tuned X-mag or Timmy, but neither is the price.
We have had one since the WEEK AFTER the AO meet here on the 5th and have had the usual teething problems of a new-to-us marker.
Set it up right out of the box and you should have minimal problems and be rewarded with a good performing marker.
I agree about a cover for the charge port - it's a problem waiting to happen.
We will continue to ring it out by letting customers "test drive" it for a game or two and get more feedback.
                          Cheers,
