I really need to know the best way to polish my Mag body. I tought that fine sandpaper was enough but then I heard about lye and polish. I think there is already a post about this but I can't find it anywhere. Please help

My uncle used a dremel with a soft tip and put car wax on the tip of the dremel and polished up the mag. I am not sure if this is a good idea but it hasen't caused any problems yet and hopefully won't in the future. But before he put the car wax on the body he just took the dremel with the soft tip and ran it over the body for some reason. I hope this helps! Remember I said I don't know if this messes the body up, so if it does don't blame me!
