    Are X valve LVL 10s broken in when received

    I put in my X valve today (wohoo) - tried to load the instruction CD and got really confused - so I counted shims and decided that level X is installed already and works really good - doesn't hurt my finger. So, my question, do I dare go to the field tomorrow without my computer to check the CD instructions? Anyone?

          I'd make sure you can disassemble and reassemble it pretty quick, that way if people are watching they won't laugh at you when you start cursing! It should be good but you may need to drop down to the next smaller carrier.

              My main concern... is that the shortest spring appears to be in it - though I have shot it next to my Smart Mag which I beleive to be chronoed at 280 and it is shooting similar in trajectory... So tomorrow its chrono time I guess - likely have to switch springs...

                  Out of the box, my pre-assembled x-valve/lv10 worked great. until i tried it the following week...

                  It does not come broken in, you'll find that your carrier o-ring might get a bit tempermental. Recomend lots of lube, and as someone suggested, a printout of Lv10 adjustment/installtion. [until you get it all memorized]
