Body Question.. Need answer. ..

I've got a pumpmag on the way with one of these funny bodies on it. There not totally new to me. I have seent hem before. i just have a few questions about them.

what are they called?
why are they made like this?
how old are they?

i do recall seeing pictures of the on the original rt's with a power feed like this.

i'm not sure on what they're called, or how old, but i believe they were made so you were able to get a site right down the top of the gun. i could be wrong, but i'm sure thats ONE if not the reason

They are called the High Rise Powerfeed bodies... I've seen them for the Original RT too, but not in the "classic" version...

I'd guess they are about as old as the Original RT, so around '96 or so...

Yes, it was designed to allow you to sight down the top of the gun. The "classic" versions are pretty rare. AGD had them in the "Attic" section of the store not even a year ago. When the brought out the design it had chopping problems which were attributed to the design. More recently it was discovered that the problem was due to the shape of the powerfeed plug so Tom put them in the store. I have one that I just haven't gotten around to finishing up the polish job on it.
