Also, my torp doesn't shoot down, gets me +/-4 at the chrono usually (+/-0.5 last time) and runs co2 fine. The torp is basically a stabilizer with different milling...that's why no one replaces it.

Have there been any tests concerning the Torpedo reg? I am curious as well how consistent it is. It always served me well, and was cheaper than most of the other regs.

This gun sure looks nice but was never a fan of a timmy. Wont shoot one unless someone handed me a free one, :)

The mini-reg and the angel are another story. The ASA coming out of the angel has metric threads so no reg other than the mini-reg will work. To replace it, you also have to replace the ASA itself, which is just more trouble and expense than it's worth. Beyond this, angels come in colors that are very hard to match, meaning that any angel with a different reg and ASA with have an unmatched reg and ASA...not great. With intimidators, the accesories are always either chrome or black (the two easiest colors to match), so it's easy to find another matching reg, yet almost no one chooses to do so. Vikings, too, are usually black, so someone could find a matching reg without much trouble, yet no one wants to replace a reg as good as the sidewinder.

Oh, and I've seen a couple pics of angels with gladiators, etc....despite the fact that changing a reg on an angel means changing the ASA too, some people see the mini-reg as such a piece of junk that they choose to replace it despite the trouble.

Oh, and the empire is allegedly very similar to a standard timmy with some of the 2k4 improvements...the 2k4 is almost totally rebuilt, but is still an intimidator and compatible with most intimidator parts.

So no, not just the same Timmy with a new milling pattern. This one will perform differently also.

Ummmmmmm, new reg housing and a grip frame that's pushed forward. That's all I see different in both pictures and what Manike mentioned. I must've missed it in his posts, but I read all of them and I didn't see anything about new internals to the marker.

Perform different? Poppet valve with a stacked tube pneumatic-hammer/bolt connection. Perform different? I'm not seeing much of anything special about this. Sure it looks amazing, and I bet that the grip frame pushed up makes it pleanty shorter and a good balance. But besides that..... looking like just your every other Intimidator to me.

Until I see just how different, if they even are different, the internals are (not a REG housing, but actual internals) I'm sort of let down. All the hype about this for the past month about it being shorter and lighter and such. They just cut off a back chunk of body and pushed the grip frame forward. I was expecting something truely different.

But for the game on hand you're using it in Manike, good luck to you. Hopefully it performs top-notch and doesn't show the 'prototype' side! :) Have fun in Philly, and as already said if coming to Shatnerball I'll see you there.

Yes, these changes may make it perform better. No one said "function" differently, just perform. Remember people, this is still an Intimidator, so therefore it's still going to work like an Intimidator. I don't go around whining about the X-Mag because it's still a blowforward design.

It can't fire any faster, and a reg housing isn't going to make it more consistent.

                          Perform better?

Yeah right! Until I shoot it myself and get amazed at it's sheer speciality..... it's just another Timmy to me.

The new reg housing will make it have less drop off and will allow the lpr to be set lower (the old single reg housing had the world's worst flow rate...two TINY little holes). The old single reg housing was also prone to spiking because of its somewhat convoluted design, as well. The new frame really will allow for a tighter and more balanced set up and the new reg housing will (hopefully) flow better and have a better design meaning lower lpr pressure, no spikes, and less drop off at high rates of fire.

Is this enough to justify buying a new timmy over an older one? Of course not, but it's a reason to buy this gun over an older timmy given the option of buying either.

Hopefully the 2k4 will have more changes, however, but the 2k2 isn't that different from a classic and it really took off, so small changes can make a big difference.

Other than that I'm sworn to secrecy, but this gun ought to have some updated internals as well. Quite a few nice improvements coming!
