I've got one (my first - from the first batch) with the Detent on the right. My second is on the left. I like it better on the right and will trade anyone a brand new ULE/Black/Detent Left for a righty.
Cphil, if you rememember the tour of Perfect Turn, they make 2 ULEs per run, one on each side of the machine. I figured they were mirror images of each other - one right, one left per run. Maybe I'm wrong...

That is my guess - but I could be wrong. I just remember Toom showing us the machine and mantioning how it made 2 parts at a time - one complete unit on each side of the machine.

Yea I do remember it started on the second one while it was finishing the first but I was not certain what perspective it finished it up on. Nor at what point the hole for the detent was milled.Comment
