Re: Need some expert advice!
and no I won't ream you Python...I'm not the reaming type...you surely know how to show complete and total bias towards a product..BUT..as for the man's question; I guess it all comes down to exactly how much money you want to spend and how serious you want to be about the game of paintball. Python did give a few shining examples of the markers that do have a lot of the qualities that you desire. I personally would recommend that you meet up with some people in you area that own these fine paintball guns and ask them if you can shoot them down at the chrono range or borrow them for a game and then make your decision. Nothings worse than feeling like you bought the wrong marker 6 months after it felt great in your hand in the shop.Originally posted by CRO COP

good luck
i just tried out one of these shockers and holy crap was it easy to shootGearAGD - "[/tom kaye shakes head in disbelief]"

Your qualifications were best lightest and fastest gun packages so heres my food for thought(ie opinions)... all of these are REALLY LIGHT AND REALLY FAST... the "best" part is rather subjective
GUNS:
-Uled out EMag, OR Xmag: Fast, NEEDS ADJUSTABLE TANK (=more$$$), hardly if ever chops with lvl10 and ACE (xmag) 3.0 (correct if numbers wrong) software will "store" shots like the WAS board, hybrid mode + adj tank = shady legal goodness, wont be checked for bounce as much as a timmy will. efficiancy = so/so
-Any WAS boarded Timmy.. flashy, WAS board basically shoots for you (*cough cheater board *cough) better efficiancy than emag, a bit longer than you might be used too, everyone else has one so you have to get one to be as cool as them... theyre starting to get the same hype BS around them that cockers had a while back.
-2k3 Shockers: never shot or held, (they wont let us open the new gun pckges up and play with em for some reason, go figure..)
i know theyre REALLY light, small, easy to WALK and have terrible efficiancy... o yeah and made by Smart Parts(booo!)
-ebladed cocker...: really light trigger + kickback of cocker = more shadly legal guns that basically end up shooting themselves for you! Cocker like efficiancy (usually fairly good).. major drawback id have to say is you NEED to be a cocker person since if your not youll get to have all the fun of a mistimed cocker AND the bonus of electronics to mess with too!!! YAY!
Hopper: well with hoppers its either fast OR light but not both..
-Anything + warpfeed= heavy + fast.. AND you gotta like warps
-halob: HEAVY but FASTER than you are. hard to find in stock, but i know for a FACT that pbgear has 6 smoke ones in stock currently despite what the stock thing on their website says (can you tell i work there?)
-evo2: personally i dont think they feed all that fast, more like a better designed rev imho. but lighter than the halo and imho sits in a much nicer spot (it sits back bit on the marker), + holds more paint..
TAnks:
Im really biased here... get a maxflow..
Id also recommend the Flatline but theres some backordered parts thing goin on and yeah get a maxxy (even if it is made by smartparts)
those would be my picks for lightest and fastest guns around at the moment... perhaps a bit bias but this is the exact spot im in at the moment on what to do/get.... (tho im leaning towards the ebladedcocker or the Xmag) since i REALLY liked both my old cocker AND my old mag"Nothing is more beutiful than a warrior with no distractions".

Id say e mag. I know moneys not an issue, but you can get an awesome deal for one used. And my favorite part: no upgrades required!

Well, it also depends on what you actually want. We all want the lightest, the fastest, the coolest(aren't all of our guns the coolest though?
), the newest, the most efficient, etc etc etc. However, we usually find the combination of all of these to be less than what we thought....not to say perfect guns are any less than perfect, but we aren't exactly perfect and therein lies the problem. Try alot of guns. Timmys may be faster n' hell but they also are fairly long and the clamshell frame(assuming you don't get a GZ or steal Manikes Empire timmy)is a little odd for some people. The Shocktech Bushy may be incredibly fast and light and small, but it is a tad on the tall side, and some people aren't fond of the trigger. The E-mag/x-mag may be the fastest guns available, seriously. They may also be very light and small, but again, they have characteristics unique to them that some people may fine less than desirable.
Moral of the Story: Go to the field(prefferably with a friend who can help you meet people) and try everything you can. Go to the Pro Shop and hold and see if you can test as many guns as possible. You just might find that a little retro mag is what you want and it will save you $1500 for paint. Ya know?

markers : emag xvalve ule body, rail, frame very light (lighter than an fly angel) SUPER fast and reliable
will not chop paint. plus you get the fun of being checked for full auto alot by the refs
or aka viking with a was board and eyes
VERY VERY fast and super air efficiant, read: a case of paint off of a 68 45
hopper , althogh they are expensive HALO all the way
I have no respect left for viewloader, I am not saying the egg is a bad hopper I just had bad luck with them
tank I love Air America Geddons but there are alot of reliable air sources out there a 68/4500 should be fine for either of these markes

Go with an Angel 4. They are the latest and greatest. Then buy a WORRgas tank. They are the lightest tank out there right now. Then buy an Eggo2. They are lighter, and feed as fast as you'll need. You can get all of this in matching colors. Dont buy a warp, just play right handed and left handed. All of this will be about 2000 bucks, so have fun. Buy a proteus mask also, they are the best. Dye packs seems spendy, but they look worth it. Get at least a pack that holds 6 pods so you can play any position. I like all of dye's jerzee stuff (pants, shirts, etc.) They seem to be durable and they look good. If you spend all this, you gotta post a picture in here.Official Member # 10,261 and so is George

Vikings and Trixes should be right up there with these guns. Both are great guns and as much as I can't stand Angels or WDP, I think that they have a spot there as well.Originally posted by demonguy8

Needs an adjustable tank? It doesn't need it, unless, like you said, you use hybrid. This is a want, not a need. A preset will do just fine.
Now, what do you mean hype BS? So the reason why people have them is because its a fad and everyone wants to follow the crowd? Come on, that's dumb. They are good guns, that are reliable and fast. The WAS board is a big improvement from the SOB and is used for other guns, not just Timmys.
-2k3 Shockers: never shot or held, (they wont let us open the new gun pckges up and play with em for some reason, go figure..)
i know theyre REALLY light, small, easy to WALK and have terrible efficiancy... o yeah and made by Smart Parts(booo!)
So, you've never shot one, or held it, but somehow magically you now its really light, small and easy to walk. And through this magic, you also know the efficieny is bad. Wow, that is amazing.
Eggs are just as heavy as Halos are with paint. So unless, you plan to play without paint, weight is not an issue. The capacity of the hopper, position of the hopper, and rate of feed are the only things to think about between the 2 hoppers.

The reg seat is what is on backorder. If the person gets it new, then there is no worry. Flatlines are great tanks, but they were developed with the thought of high pressure. Even then, if the gun has an inline, you don't have to double reg it. An inline with a preset is fine.
those would be my picks for lightest and fastest guns around at the moment... perhaps a bit bias but this is the exact spot im in at the moment on what to do/get.... (tho im leaning towards the ebladedcocker or the Xmag) since i REALLY liked both my old cocker AND my old mag"Yea, well, if wishes were horses, then we'd be all eating steak."

*sigh..... since it seems people love to pick apart my posts...
EMAG/XMAG... if cost isNOT a consideration, and your are looking to get the MOST out of them then yes a adjustable tank should be a requirement... having the option to adjust your trigger that extra bit for 2/3 of the firing modes (hybrid and manual) just makes sense... so required? no. but if cost isnt considered, then YES.
WAS boarded timmy: please explain to me where I ever stated
that a timmy was a bad, unreliable gun.. I dont think i would have listed it if I thought that...Anywayz, the mentioning of how everyone has one was a lightheartedly neutral statement which can be used to imply two things depending on how you see it: 1 Good since Lots of people have and know how to work on them, and parts will be redily available. or 2That pretty much everyone else and their mother has one, and that your gun would by no means be unique. (that matters to some people, myself included)
The 2k3 shocker: READ ANY review on it and youll get pretty much what i said. The fact that i stated i had never shotten one is merely pointing out the fact that this is NOT from PERSONAL experience and rather from others' personal experience
The hoppers: Granted the extra weight from the paint might make up for the halos extra body weight, haveing not personally compared them side by side while on a scale and filled with paint, I will have to take your word on that and agree its the hoppers' ball capacity, feed rate, and position on gun that make the decision
Tanks: thanks for clearing up the flatline issue.. now that that is cleared up I can reccommend flatlines as well (used to have one very consistent over the chrono with my rtpro +freak)
As far as the matrix or the Viking: I purposly dis- included them for one reason, they are on the rather heavy side of things where the guy wants the lightest and fastest.... not fastest and most popular.. (i also didnt know off memory and/or was too lazy to look up stats on non stock markers such as the featherlite viking or NYX trix) this is also why impulses are not on my list as well as a few other markers... The new angel was not included simply because i know little to nothing about it yet."Nothing is more beutiful than a warrior with no distractions".
Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever.

Back to the subject
I was just merely stating somethings that I felt were off in your post. I wasn't trying to say that you were unknowledgeable or wrong, just some clarifications. He wants facts, and first hand knowledge, not what people hear or read. Ultimately, this guy wants to buy something that is on the higher spectrum of cost and all these guns should be take into consideration.
If you get a gun other than an X-mag or E-mag, and it has an inline reg, than a preset is fine. If you want to have the security of an adjustable, just in case the inline fails, then spend the money and get a conquest or flatline.
Barrels, right now there are a bunch of barrel systems. I like CP barrels a lot. They have a great finish, and are really nice. Invest in one of these to achieve the full potential of the gun that you get.
Hoppers, try them out, and it might be even beneficial to find an old revvy to keep it durable and light.
If money is not an object, I am sure that you will not have any trouble finding a very light setup."Yea, well, if wishes were horses, then we'd be all eating steak."
