    Message from William Shatner !!

Direct from Bill after I told him there were over 1000 pics on the forums from SA II. How about a big AO THANKS to Bill and the other celebs for taking the time to play ball with the little people. I will forward your comments to him.

"SPPLAT ATTACK II was a major success. People came up to me and said it was the best time they've had in their lives. And I didn't turn on them and say 'Get a Life.' What I did say is that next year is a sure thing. There will be a SPPLAT ATTACK III. It will be on Labor Day Weekend 2004 and we'll make an announcement as to where very soon. But make sure it's on your calendar. My hope is to have a concert as well and we'll have an even better time than SPPLAT ATTACK II. Looking forward to seeing you there!"

          Bill,
It was great to shoo...er...meet you. It was truely amazing for me to be on stage with you, Tom,JJ, and all the other celebs. I could not have asked for a better vacation after my return from overseas. That capped off an amazing weekend. My wife and I will definately be there next year if the Army lets me. Having that much fun for charity should be illegal!

I attended the event in 2002, and it was great!

Unfortunately, I could not attend this year due to timing, but Dale and Josh did attend.

I will, however, be there in 2004 come hell or high-water!

Most celebrities, when they are part of an event, will step up on stage and say their thing and then head back to their trailer. I've seen it many times. But, not Mr. Shatner. He played...and played...and played. Heck, we were supposed to interview him in 2002, but his agent couldnt peel him off the field!

Prior to SPPLAT Attack, I had only known Mr. Shatner as "Captain James T. Kirk". But, since then, I've come to realize he's much more than that and to respect him as a human being. He's very down to earth, and he's got more energy than most people half his age. I only hope I can aspire to be like him when I'm his age.

Thank you, Mr. Shatner, for being an inspiration to people of all ages, whether on the field or on the big screen. And, thanks for supporting the sport of paintball.

              See you next year!

                  Mr. Shatner:

I think it is safe to say that there isn't a single person on this forum that played for Tom's team and didn't have a great time. I personally have never had more fun playing in a scenario and I eagerly await next year. I know Icky Forest is coming to get you so you'd best hide your walkie talkies.

I'll tell you one thing though. Seeing you out there actually playing the game for nearly a solid eight hours and not just sitting in a tent pretending that you're involved was simply one of the most impressive things I can remember seeing in a long time. I'm glad to see that you, and all the other generals for that matter, are so completely hands on.

And on one final note, if next year Tom's team has to be the French for any reason I guarantee you that I will be holding you accountable. I'd rather play as the federated states of Micronesia.
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to do at Spplat 3, strapping a whole lot of paintgrenades to my chest and doing a suicide mission once I get near Shatner!!!

Not next year, according to what I have heard from some bigger names the event will not be held on the west coast or like some people think cali... It will definately be east coast , upper midwest. If it is ever held in California, I will NOT attend. The cost of traveling to california is too high not to mention staying anywhere there costs a lot... Just not something I would be willing to do. There are other states then cali that I may go to but it doesn't look like its going to happen.

There were a couple people from california in attendance this year as well so its not that bad!

Thanks Mr. Shatner for making this event another memorable outting for me. Thanks for pinching a nerve in my shoulder and crap.... I must say this years event was a lot more casual as compared with last years. The "celebs" were around a LOT more and seemed more accessible as well. It seemed more like a personal event. I cannot wait until next year!

Thanks Bill for making it out to play ball with us!

As someone who had always known Bill from Star Trek and had always heard negative stories about his attitude I have been so very happy to find out that one of my childhood heroes is an honestly nice and kind person. I have played paintball for some 17 years now and have seen many changes. I left the sport at one time when I felt that people were playing too much to win instead of playing for love of the game. This event is about much more than winning. It is about having fun, helping out fellow paintballers, their families, and getting a rather large extended family together. Bill gives off the impression that he is among friends and treats everyone in that manner. I rememeber bidding on an autographed photo when Bill interrupted the auction and said that "anyone who wants one will get one just bring him the pictures and he'd make sure to get them autographed." That was very cool of him. I also heard that he normally receives 100,000 bucks to go to Star Trek conventions but that this event he did for free.

Thanks Bill, for all of the memories from my youth. Thanks for playing the game with us. Thanks for being a sincere and nice person. And welcome to our slightly bizarre, dysfunctional, extended family.
