There are 6 eye systems for Matrix's? The only one's I've ever seen and touched are ours, eggi's and the Rice board(or whatever it's called today) Alot of companies claim to be making eye systems but at least a couple have called us looking to order Toxic Eye's. All 3 that we've tested work well, ours is a bit easier to work with, but it has an LCD screen too, the other 2 work really well though.
My opinion is to not swap the CP reg out, we've tested a ton of regs and the CP is the current lightweight champion of regulators, better flow than EVERYTHING we've tested. I like Max Flow's and I ran them against the CP yesterday and it got beat by 20 psi in drop off.
The Crossfires are nice though, and Chris and the gang are really cool guys to screw around with at events.

That's funny...I'd love to see you have that discussion with Chris from Crossfire....they're claiming to have the lowest psi drop off in the industry so far...a reported 5-7psi...hence the reason why people like me end up testing them...Originally posted by Toxic Dave

and I'll go back and clarify the situation since my claim of 6 eye systems for the Trix...there are actually only 3 that have been released and 3 more on the drawing board. Now if any of these people have contacted you, TD, I wouldn't be privy to that information anyways so this is just as it stands at this moment:
1. *NYX Matrix- LED Only (at this point only comes on the NYX)
2. *GenE/Toxi- LCD only (so far that I've gotten info for..TD would know more)
3. *FlipFlops/Trauma Eye- LED (no idea about LCD)
4. FreeFlow eye- Who knows right now..
5. Roughneck eye- ???
6. Wicked Air Sports- Ask Jim..I don't have time to bug him..
(those with *'s have been released)Comment

Just an FYI, Jim Drew (of WAS) has said that the other eye systems are located in the wrong position, limiting the maximum ROF for the matrix. He claims his will be located in the correct position.
I do not have any opinion on this at all. I am just repeating what he posted. And I have no idea why one way is incorrect, and what the correct placement would be.Comment

We hang out with the Crossfire guys at most of the events, and have a really good repoir with Chris. For some odd reason, the regs that he's given us to test dropoff a bit at 180-190, but are awesome 15 psi higher or lower..it's weird. We showed that to Chris and he's on the mission, we figure it's something to do with a "dead spot" in the springs at that pressure.
I really like the Crossfire screw in tanks alot, and they handle themselves as a company very well, but we ended up using the CP's on our guns because they preform great at the pressures we need them to.
The # of companies claiming to be making an eye for the Matrix is a sore subject for me. As for the eye's being in the wrong spot for maximum ROF...we're quite happy with 27 BPS with no "de-bounce"(trigger bounce enabeling) settings. Maybe WAS has hoppers that will feed the gun faster, but we haven't seen one.

Well, I guess I'm going to be one of Crossfire's "guinea pigs" and Chris is asking me to give him any info once I start to use the reg (which was supposed to be this weekend but oh well). I'm not going to throw away or sell my CP reg, I'm just going to be switching between the two to see if there is any "real world" performance differnce between them (good or bad for each).Originally posted by Toxic Dave

As for the information about all the companies that are mkaing eyes. I think it's rather funny the amount of companies claiming to make eyes; kind of comical actually. A few of the companies who supposedly are working on eyes couldn't engineer themselves out of a paper bag.Comment

I didn't end up getting the Matrix after all...there was a falling out between me and the owner..oh well..it happens...everyone here knows me..I'm always thinking...Comment

Well my new '03 LCD trix came in yesterday. It's blue matte with a matching clamping midrise. Other than that I'll be leaving it as is until I determine if I need an eye with a HALO B. There are 4 other Matrix shooters at my field and none of them chop very often with HALO's.
Of course, it's my SFL's backup :)Last edited by Load SM5; 09-18-2003, 11:05 AM.Comment

USAF-Flyboy with a Mag -
Well it's also the toy around gun. I like to try new guns on occasion but it'll be a cold day in hell before I get rid of the SFL. So now I can trade around with the other gun and get the whole Viking, Timmy, E-Cocker, etc. thing out of my system and hang onto the Mag.Comment

Dan, I thought you were going to get an NYX if that fell through?Miscue - *Banned for: Flaming, disruptive behavior, and overall jackassery* -Brian
