    AGD Saves the Matrix :)

I saw this quote in an article posted at WarPig by Bill Mills:

"These changes, combined with new timing values set into the electronics also increase gas efficiency. It was discovered with the LED Matrix that the paintball was already out of the barrel while the bolt was forward and gas was still being vented out of the dump chamber. This gas was wasted. The LCD Matrix moves the bolt back, and closes the spool valve earlier. This means that the gas is not wasted, and the dump chamber is already partially full, so it will not take as long to refill for the next shot. This is important for protection against shoot down at high rates of fire."

Does anyone remember this thread from deep blue?

Named after the IBM super computer, Deep Blue is headed by Tom Kaye, president of AGD. This forum is open to the public, but only high end technical subjects are allowed. If your posts don't cut the mustard they will be moved.

Yup and I remember posting at that time that the problem
was mostly solved, at that time as well. the arrdy blue
bolt that I already had could go down to 10ms foreward
(not really usable 12ms or 14ms is more common)

          Lets try this again

Aardvark blue bolt with foreward time down to 10ms
released fall 2001 (I had mine in november 01)

Tom posts chart with old slow chip april 2002

I'd say Greg Duncan (Aardvark) had things well in hand
LONG before tom published that chart

By the way bolt timing was a lesser cause of the inefficiency, but one cause none the less
