well most people here will tell you that a sight is useless and in most cases thats true, however i play woods ball primarialy and from time to time get some fun use out of my red-dot reflex sight. just be aware of the fact that you are lobing a liquid filled capsule with air and that un less you know how to judge range and windage and adjust accordingly you will find the sight useless, it is not a point and click sort of thing it takes some skill to use one that being said i use this http://www.actionvillage.com/016-1015.html
and i suppose if i had more money i might get this

      Personally,
I use this one. I am finding that I use it more and more over time, but like said above you have to learn how to use them. Red Dot sights are really nice. Armson makes one that has a larger than normal red dot for paintball/shotgun. I am thinking about upgrading to this one. Just need to find out if this is the day/night version. Which comes in handy at night cuz its kinda hard to sight along the barrel at night. (Scenario Ball Player Here.) The regular armson are just day sights. Basically thier .22 model. Here is a link to Web Dog Radio. Tyger has an interesting video up on sights in general. Its show #2 on the page.

To answer the question, I don't think a lot of people do use sights. But there's various reasons behind that not the least of which is some tourneys do not allow them. (I think!)

However, I do use one. A Simmons 30mm red-dot sight to be precise. And I find it extremely useful. But that's me.

If you're curious about using a sight, simply try a couple. If you find one you like and it's not prohibited in your style of play, then you have your answer.

A few things to know about sights/scopes. First off, there's no real value to using a scope. Having magnification in paintball really doesn't benefit you much since everyone effectively has the same range and that range is very short relatively speaking. A sight however, can be very useful once you learn how to use it. No matter what, it will only be truely accurate at once distance. Above and below that you will need to adjust your muzzle to get the desired effect. I can tell you, that you can get pretty accurate with your marker once you've learned these ranges.

Another good resource to check out is Tyger's video on this very subject. His page is at www.webdogradio.us, but to make it quick for you, here's a direct link to the video in question: CLICK ME

Hope that helps ya some. Enjoy!
