Hmmm... Well with Atlanta traffic... which is legendary... figure on an extra amount of time to get THROUGH Atlanta. Once your out the other side its home free. But getting that first 20 miles can take a while!

I should think we all still be around Clemson that time of the day. I suspect you will not pull in until around 9 maybe. But since I am Jon and Toms Chaufer I cannot make plans outside of what they want to do. I couldn't realy speak for breakfast myself at this point.

You should be going against traffic for the most part at that time. Might have a little at first but should thin out fast. What way are you going? Might be able to save you a little time going around the major traffic areas on a friday.

Well for a little while he will be going in until he clears downtown... so yea. . But after about half way through he should be moving along. With a few unexplained and sudden screech to a halts.

Hahahaha 6:20 am on a friday there might be more traffic than you think Actually I think it really starts up around 7:30 around my area.. not quite sure about that..
If anyone is going through GA 400 and passes exit 5, you can think, OMG, IM PASSING PERSONMAN's HOUSE!!


Anyway im leaving early early saturday morning.. its like a 2 hour drive

I'm use to SF Bay Area traffic. How bad can it be?

Hehe, how bad can it be? Well, I've sat for 2 hours before just going part of the way around Atlanta. Just make sure you go to the bathroom before you leave.

Oh and Dayspring, don't worry about alcohol, this is a college town remember?

Ok, I have driven in some of the worse traffic citys in the US (NYC, Washington DC, San Fran, Atlanta, and Chicago) and let me tell ya, Atlanta is by far the worse traffic I have ever seen. So, it's MUCH worse than San Fran traffice. One of these days I need to get to LA and see how bad that really is.

OUCH! Well, I'll have the GPS attached to the Palm Pilot. If it's bad at that time maybe I can find my way around it. BTW, You don't really what to see what LA traffic is like. A 45 minute drive to LA can take 4 hours. And your not sitting in traffic the entire way!

Speaking of driving in traffic. I once passed a taxi in downtown Manhattan just to see if I could. THOSE guys are crazy!

Oh well Atlanta can be fun. Anal Spinxster slammin shut fun. It goes about 80 miles an hour then all the sudden a screeching hault for an hour. Creaping forward. A mile a hour. Then all the sudden it goes back up to 80 miles and hour! For no apparent reason!

hehe... its no worse than the worst you seen. And sometimes it moves along real well. Who knows. And there is no good time or bad time nor a "rush hour" really anymore. It can happen anytime!

I suggest you eat breakfast BEFORE you head out of the Airport. You do not want to get off in Atlanta anywhere. And once you clear it you will not want to stop. You will just want to get as far as hell away from there as you can!

Don't get me wrong. Atlanta is a great town. If your just staying around there and stuff. Lots to do. Lots of easy ways to get around within the town. Good public transportation and all that. Its just getting out of it or into it that can be a white knuckler. Be patient and on your toes, cover your brakes and keep checking your rear view and stay in the middle! Take I-85 north all the way out. Allow extra time going back. Its not so bad really but for a country bumpkin like me I hate it. I do it but I hate it. I go through there with a Camper on back even. Now thats freakin hairy I tell ya.

Oh yeah, get a blow up doll or mannequin or something so you can drive in the carpool lane, it usually moves faster.
