      no those are wood chips. And the indoor field has dozens of fans on the ceiling so that probly helps with the smell of the paint,

        I'm not sure, I've only had the building since July. The roof is 80 feet high and has huge vents. The building has also been vacant gathering dust and pigeons for about 20 years, so just getting it cleaned up and putting cedar chips down just makes it wonderful everytime I go in. Other than that, depending on the type of surface you have, you could remove the top layer and replace the surface every three months or so, or if you have artificial turf you could just hose it down and squeegee it off. Let me know if you've thought of a better way or have found the perfect surface. I'm thinking of putting down sod and growing grass.
