This isn't a thread to bash SP or anything like that. There are other threads for that. 
The patent issue... it holds back upstarts and new ideas. Guys like Thorpydo and his friends. Or people like sniper1rfa. We've all got great ideas and SP is a sort of restrictor. Even I've got some rather cool designs.
I don't know how much licensing or royalty fees are. Paying even a penny wouldn't be cheap enough because I know SP should not have been granted the broadening of their original Shocker patent.
Where will all the great ideas go?
So will we want to or be able to afford to pay these fees? Will only the big companies make cool toys?
