    Are Mags Gashogs?

I was wondering if Mags use a lot of air. I have a 114 3000(I know I know) And I have never shot the whole thing, does anyone have any idea how many shots I'll get with an ANS bolt? But my original question was do Mags use a lot of air, as compared to a Cocker, or any blowback.

ive heard people say they get about 1200 shots out of their 114ci tanks. i dont know how many i get out of my 68ci, i refill every 3 games or so with about 1000psi left.

Ive heard of people pulling 1500 from a 68/3000. If you don't already have an ANS bolt, don't buy one. They will not increase your efficiancy at all, and they wear out faster. The only advantage they offer over a stock bolt is the fommie. If you really want a fommie get an AGD fommie bolt (less money and lasts longer), or wait for the superbolt.

I have an ANS Phase II bolt. It is non-foamie. Should I replace it?

arg! Well, I guess they do use a lot of gas...I had my tank filled yesterday and was breaking in the valve(new Retro) and ran out this morning! I have a 68/3000 Pure Energy. But actually, I don't mind, cause usually when I go to get a refill, I end up buying something else!

They do use up air quickly, but I wouldn't trade my baby for the world.

also, get a new superbolt if you want the best. They are around $50-55 and rip it up big time! I have used a foamie in the past...it's nice...with the superbolt, you get no recoil...thats nice too

I shot 400 rounds in a game last month and still had 1000psi in my 48/3000 tank.

Get this: I have an 18" barrel!

If you got a sum of money lying around...Get a scuba tank and scuba tap for...~$220 ? Maybe less, maybe more depending on type of tank and taps dont vary very much. That way you can top yourself off after every few games. I basically got my scuba just for my retro. outta my 68 c.i. 3k i can get about 650 shots i believe, but that its pushing it to its last breaths of air. I also have like 900 psi going into the gun too...so...?
More if you have less air going in?

i have a 68/4500 and a 114/3000 and i'll pull at least 900 from both. sometimes i'll get about 1100 from the 68ci. i use that on my retro mag, stock mag, and z-mag(z-mag, hahaha). actually, the stock mag isn't really stock either but oh well. I don't know if you said it already or not but if you have an adjustable tank, lower the output so you get more shots out of it. but otherwise, i think you should get more shots than that. are you sure they're filling it to 3000psi? i know some people that fill at my field fill it to fast and they let it drop to like 2400psi. you gotta make sure it doesn't drop to much.

I don't know about being a gashog, but the Retro valve definitely uses more air than the stock AIR. I noticed that when I borrowed MagDog68's retro valve.

my experiences with my classic valve powerfeed mag have seen about 800 shots off of a 68 at 3000 psi with a 11 inch barrel (stock RT barrel)

With an RT i could pull about 600 shots off of a 2400psi fill and still have about 900psi still in the tank with the same barrel. so i always figure 800-900 shots between refills or a real paint dumper of a game before I need another fill.

My experiences were an older RT with the stock bolt and a newer powerfeed mag with the extended nose bolt
