    Input on my next marker.

Well, since I can't seem to get one in my hands I would just like to get some feedback on what marker is more accurate, rate of fire can be worked on but with the three I've selected...they are in the same area. I'm looking at an Angel, shocker, and an EMag. I hear angels are very inaccurate but I've also heard that they are very accurate...personal opinion. I hear shockers are fast and accurate due to the closed bolt system. I hear emags are decently accurate, they ARE pretty heavy, and I don't see them around much. I know that this is an Automag forum so it may be a little biased but I'd like some experienced input on this. "No angel rules, mags suck" stuff. I am just looking for an accurate marker that does its job very well.

First off, there have to be at least 100 threads about accuracy. If it hasn't sunk in yet, it never will

My E-Mag, with the stock barrel, weighs 3.75lbs

    A GenX-3 'Cocker, w/CP 12" barrel, weighs 3.4lbs

I'd like to know what a Shocker weighs.

Accuracy is a matter of paint barrel match. If the barrel and paint don't match the ball might get an awkward spin or if the detent/nubbin inside are set wrong they will do the same thing. I know spin doesn't effect it that much but it still effects it. The weight is the biggest issue here and that would be a matter of prefference.

i think footemps is right. but also the emag will be capable of a much higher rate of fire. and if any of the three run out of batteries. u know the emag would be the only one working cause it can opperate on manual mode too

There are many diffrent factors to pick your new gun, you should try all three, but right now your looking for information. Angels are great guns and the most widely used in the tourney circuit. I prefer the Emag, it has a great magnetic trigger and can operate w/o/ batteries. I wouldn't even consider a shocker

Go out and try both guns

I would love to be able to try an angel and emag but unfortunately noone has one that I know. I understand the bore to paint size match. BUT, I've heard that closed bolt guns are more accurate.....it doesn't mean its true. Most of what I read sinks in but remember that there are reviews and other forums which equates to many different opinions. About the angels accuracy...I was reading a review where they tested all of these guns, typical locked vise method. The angel missed 22 shots completely. The emag did a heck of a lot better. There are other deciding factors and thats what Im looking for here. Thats why I ask for feedback through experience.

ok, the marker that is the most manly is the e-mag. Maxim magazine even said so! The e-mags pros andf cons out weigh(litteraly) an angels. It is all up to you. and closed bolt vs open bolt is also a crock. Check out warpig, they did an accuracy test. Just go with what you think is cooler. If you dont like an angel theres always some body willing to trade an e-mag for it. It is all in trial and error. Heck, save your money up, and also ask for a gun during xmas. then you can have 2!

                Failure,

Thanks for coming here and asking, as you see we don't flame around here. Here are some things to think about.

Angel weight no barrel or tank = 2.75 lbs
SFL Emag no barrel or tank = 2.88 lbs
                you can call this even.

Accuracy = paint to barrel match then both guns are the same with right barrel.

Consistency = how well the air blast is delivered every time to the back of the ball. Most people would say say:
                1. Cocker
                2. Emag
                3. Angel (this is where the Angel has issues)

Emag has manual overide, cool feature
Angel has LCD with lots of modes and handle vibrator, cool features.

Buy the Angel you have the same gun as your friends.
Buy the Emag you don't have the same gun as your friends.
Depending on your point of view, either of these choices could be good.

Emag has AO Forum where hundreds of people hang out every day and can help you.

Angel has built in attitude that can also help you in a different way.

                The biggest difference,
With the Emag the president of the company answers your posts.

Angel, if you get an email from the president of WDP please buy the Angel.

That is a pretty straight forward assessment of the differences from someone who should know.

I don't think there is a 'president of WDP'... maybe Ged?

There is a board of directors... See WDP have a democracy where as you have a dictatorship

I've found that the Angel can be very consistant on single shots but not so good on rapid strings. Kinda the opposite way around to my RT.

I'm trying to find a chrono that will test very rapid strings... I know of the PACT but have heard it can't go over 12bps... What do you use Tom? Is there anything available which can record the velocity of each shot in a rapid string AND the time taken between shots in that string?

The shocker is a great gun. It is a little on the big side but it is surprisingly light. It also comes with a nice aftermarket barrel. I'm not saying its your best choice but rather that it shouldnt have been discounted. I personally have never shot an angel so I cant offer you an opinion on that marker. I own an emag and like it alot. I think I will be content with it when I get the delrin bolt.

One of the things no one spoke to is vibration. Because if its design the emag doesnt kick, however, when the bolt slams foreward when it is fired there is a small ammount of vibration. I didnt even notice it until I shot a friends Impulse. The Impulse and Shocker fire smooth as silk. Also the emag is an uncomfortable gun at best. The gripframe is large and has no ergonomics. The magazine shape of the front battery is not a comfortable foregrip. I often wonder how we went from the Automag RT, which is the most comfortable marker I have ever held, to one of the least the E-Mag. I would kill for an RT Pro with the E-Mag electric trigger!!!

The best advice, which I have seen given over and over again here is; hold and shoot all three. Buy which ever you like the best. I dont think you could go wrong with any of the three.

Hehe, yes I agree that I wouldn't be chatting with the Angel president or what-have-you. I am also happy that ALL of the people that are responding are doing so in a 'non-flame' fashion. I already know that this is an awesome forum with a lot of intelligent and experienced people. I wasn't aware of the weight, weird that everyone says that mags are heavier when they aren't but a few ounces at best. Yes and kudos to AGD for building the best valve in the industry. One less thing to worry about and have to perfect over the years. I may be able to get my hands on an Emag soon so I can't wait to try it out. I do like to be the odd one in the pack of evens, thats my personality.

if you want an angel, i suggest not getting a stock one, if you have your heart set on an angel, get a cobra or adrenalin, both are fantastic markers, and come with great warrantys(sp)
i still wish i wouldnt of got rid of my adrenalin.

also wieght wise, he was comparing a stock angel to a sfl emag, i dunno if thats really fare or not, i mean throw up a feather adrenalin and an sfl, i just dont think thats really fare, your only giving one side of the story there,
because the feathers are super light, what does a stock emag weight?
i think that are heavy guns, but thats my opinion

and if your getting a 2001 angel the batteries last forever!
i couldnt believe how long i played with mine until i had to recharge it, so its not like your not gonna know when it needs charging,
i really think that the manual mode is for the dumber breed, who would go out to a field with a near deaed battery?
even if u did that, sit out a game and charge it in your car.

its not a large issue like many emag owners say it is. i went for over a month without chargeing an i played at least once a week, if not twice

the stock angel and the sfl emag are about the same price too so it will even out. its not like your going to compare the best emag- say the sfl to the best angel- adrenalin i think. the price is wayyyyy off so it doesn't really work.
