    RT, Reg, Air question

    Hey everyone.
I'm just about to pick up a new RT Pro and I have a question about air systems.
I have a PMI PE and a DYE reg sitting here. Would I be better off to use the Reg (to adjust the input pressure) and the PE tank. Or sell both and go to an adjustible system?

    Performance

You will get the best performance out of an adjustible regulated tank.

yeh, the PE is preset to 800psi (or 850). The advantage of an adjustable is you can INCREASE it to 900 or 1000 to get more reactivity in the trigger. Even with a Dye reg, you can't get the pressure above the output of the tank

Actually I was thinking more to lower the pressure not up it...

There wouldn't be enough of a difference between the reg and the tank. Rule of thumb is 200-250 between regs. Unless you're planning on running the 600 range, it's not worth it.

Why would you want to lower it? And no, no reason to tripple reg a gun.

                To reduce reactivity maybe?

At one tourney here a couple of years ago, they where cracking down on RT's and if you couldn't turn down the trigger they where banning them...stupid I know. While this might not every be a problem again, I thought I'd see what people thought before I went out at bought a new air system when I already have a set up sitting here.
