It's not that they WON'T work together... it's recommended that you not use them together, because they can give "undesired results". The classic valve will/can short stroke easier with the ULT, therefore being a bad thing.

      sooo

undesired results = short stroking = more chopped paint?

Is that the extent of the damage?

Basically, yes. They don't want some kid putting the ULT in a valve that really wasn't designed for and have them come back whining about why it doesn't work, and about how much paint it chops and etc.

i was thinking..... couldnt u put a spring behind the trigger to simulate a bit of reactivity and help with the short stroking problems?

The problem is that the on/off pin does not reset fast enough. A spring could feasably speed up the trigger return so that the pin did not have to work as hard to move the sear and trigger assembly back - but if the on/off just plain isn't fast enough nothing will help.

In my mind, if you are a true AGD supporter you won't bother trying the ULT in AIR valved guns. The company is clawing it's way back from the paint blender rep and if someone goes out there with a ULT in a classic that is not working properly, then it is going to cast more bad light on mags. People have been flat out told that the ULT is not intended for the AIR - so why bother and hurt the company at the same time? Some people might take issue with this burden being shifted onto the owners shoulders - but this is how I see things.

              lvl 10

dosn't the lvl 10 solve the chopping issue, though? it works in the classics.

It does solve the chopping issue, however, a person that has LVL10 and ULT in an AIR valve, can quite possibly do nothing but chuff, chuff, chuff, instead of chopping balls, effectively giving anothe undesired result: being bunkered ugly style, due to the lack of balls coming out of thier so called modified and faster AIR valve.

                  now now people...

Installing a spring behind the trigger would making the pull heavier; thus making it pointless to have a ULT.

In my mind, if someone goes out onto the field with a ULT-AIR valve(working properly), than they're screaming HOORAH! for Airgun Designs because even thier cheapest marker can accept high end/high performance valve upgrades.

I havent heard a chuff in 6000 rounds...
(and even then it was my lvl10... darn jellybean-shaped paintballs)

People have been flat out told that the ULT is not intended for the AIR

The way I see it, my ULT went in the same way as my lvl10, same trial and error with shims, basically just as easy...

Thats all I have for now, I need a nap.

(if you havent figured it out, I use the ULT on my Classic valve)

Didn't work in my minimag at all. And it had TERRIBLE shootdown when you weren't short stroking. Like we're talking 2-3 shots and it would barely fire.

That was with 2 kits worth of shims in there as well.
