AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
what is the current process for aplying that black finish to the stainless bodies? is it still tefflon or something else powdercoated? electroplated? other?
I thought they are Parkerized now. But not certain because some sources tell me you cannot parkerize SS and a few say certian ones with a certain process like parkerizing will work. One place I foud a proceedure for SS with Concentrated Sulfuric Acid. Which is a kind of Parkerizing but....Not ever bothered to confirm that but it looks like Parkerizing or one other coating that I found called KGI Gun coat. Something like those. They not done them in Teflon for some time now I think.
Originally posted by BlackVCG That was what they used when they first came out with the black coated bodies. It peeled off too much, so they switched to the current method.
