Disliking the way paintball is going

Back when i first started playing, everyone who was anyone played woodsball. NPPL ran mostly woodsball and some speedball. I couldnt wait for a more conventional style of play to come along, like airball. I hated woods. Now that airball is what everyone plays, I'm kinda of gettin sick of it all. Playing woods tourney ball is so much different then playing airball. There is a completly different skill involed which i bet alot of the tournament players now dont have.

Does anyone else wish the NPPL suprised everyone at a tourney and had a woodsball field at one of there events?

That would be pretty cool. Like BLAM! Woods field, and all the teams come dressed in bright colors, asking to attract paint. THat would be great, because noone would have an advantage, all would be clearly visable.

Yes, woods fields need to come back.

The field I play at, Velocity Paintball in Ramona, CA, has mainly woodsball fields with some mixed in Spool and Hyperball style fields...I actually enjoy the change of pace..

It's ok. I still like Sup Air more though. I guess one of the main reasons there's not many woodsball tournies is because of field advantages. One side may be way better. If you start adding a bunker or two, to try to even it out, the other side may start ruling. That's my guess, anyways.

i cut my paintball teeth on velocity's woodsball fields (30 on 30), it was fun, i like Hyperball more now. thats about the only bad thing i see aobut the woodsball here, they pack everyone into 1 game.

                      IMHO

The bigest reason you are not going to see alot of woodsball at tourneys is Spectatablilty. (If thats a word even ) Its hard to see whats going on... promoters make even bigger money if the sponsors know they are going to be seen.

Dude, just let the arguement die. Want woods? Play scenario. Want concept/airball? Play tourney. End of story.

Woods tournaments would be tough for basically how Goat says. It's simply not possible to have a thousand people in the stands watching woodsball because, well, um, there are trees in the way. In order for sports to catch on people have to be able to watch them and get interested. If you can't watch it never catches your fancy.

And the other point about mother nature not exactly growing the forests in a balanced way is valid to. I haven't seen too many symetrical woods, have you?

Maybe the next thing that becomes big is making fake woods for tournaments. You know, bukers that look like trees and so forth, just short enough that we can see through them. That would be sort of neat I guess, both worlds at once.
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

One of the local places i played at for a while was kinda like a woods/speedball combination field. It was in the woods with lots of trees n such, but there was many many bunkers. Also 2 towers you could climb up into (getting in and out was hard without getting shot) It's a lot of fun there as long as other people show up, its in a pretty out of the way place.
